More than likely the power gain would be consumed by the A/C pump as it would be engauged all the time. I think an A/C pump consumes about 10 - 15hp.

They are a buzz to drive but a bit to noisey and rattly to drive on a daily basis IMHO The Exige is acctually slower than the Elise in a straight line due to extra mass and alot of drag. Personally I would rather have the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo (Opel Roadster) same car but with more sound...

#2 sounds like a boost leak, got any engine codes??

Have you checked for codes?? If it feels flat you could have a faulty knock sensor which is pulling your timing. Have you checked your base timing? That could also be retarded a few degrees, the car will boost but will still be slow.

Does it smoke at any other time?? If it only smokes after you have been on the throttle then your looking at rings and possibly turbo seals.

Can someone explain to me why you need to upgrade the fuel pressure regulator?? If you have the flow from the pump that is way more than the car needs for 400 hp why do you need a different regulator surly the stock one which is controlled by vacume/boost will rais the pressure as the boost...

If it fires with starting fluid, it points to a fuel problem. It would seem that your injectors arn't firing or but I don't think this is possible you have your feed and return lines for fuel on the wrong way.

If I remember correctly someone on SF made an FFI out of the stock manifold and it flowed pretty well and evenly.

This would indicate you have a bad valve stem seal on the number 1 cylinder.
