I would suggest getting a 3 inch full exhaust before touching a boost controller, its a disaster waiting to happen. Your stock boost is 6-7, i can't remember nor do i know first hand cause my stupid stock boost guage was in vacuum. Some people say 6, some say 7.....i say if it pushed 7 over 15...
that thing is pretty much hideous any way you put that. He's got all the right intentions and all the wrong results. Drop that fake greddy crap and clean it up to a nice normal grey/silver color and it would be worth a second glancing. Mixing blue and orange.....get real.
Haha the bidding...
Well its finally complete...I fixed my problem. So this is what it feels like to drive a finely tuned car. Turns out when i ran all the tests last month i overlooked the correct stop screw clearance for one test. The problem was there was no IDL signal, so i took it all apart and a couple hours...
I got a 89T and its been my DD and only car for 2 years now. I've never had a time where I didnt have my car available for more than a day. The only time it wasnt on the road was when i was swapping in a MHG. As for reliability, its been awesome. A few problems here and there, but nothing enough...
In my case, I disagree with people saying this car is unreliable. I bought mine two years ago and the only problem I ever had was a switch signal code, obviously fixed expense free. Every car has its problems...even the infamous civic has its problems over time, every car does. If you can, park...
yea i already got the throttle body off.i didnt realize the piddly amount it holds. I thought it might have a small resevoir or something but its just a line that runs through it. Thanks guys.
Thats what I have. 235/60s on sawblades in the back. I love them. If you want your car to do 360's around a corner, get falkens. Our cars are too powerful for them if you dont know how to handle properly.
UPDATE:
Well today i will be removing the throttle body and adjusting it. I discovered something when i just pulled up home this morning. When i rev my engine my headlights get really bright, when i release the pedal they dim way down. This aint normal is it :icon_razz Could this be my...
tomorrow i will remove the throttle body and inspect it and do the tests on the tps, we will see if the problem lies there. I sure hope thats what it is. :icon_conf
All these people not believing the stock CT times are in complete denial. I'm sorry but the turbo isnt everything about this car. How do people find it not possible to break low 12s with a stock ct? Its like saying no other non turbo car can go that fast lol what a joke. Turbo just adds to the...
I've been going around looking for a fuel injection line clamp and finally got one, its a 5/16th inch clamp which is what i believe our cars have, yet the damn clamp doesnt look like it will tighten down enough, its too big looking. Am I missing something here? :icon_conf
Its normal for it to not blow-off when it is cold. You shouldnt be boosting until atleast 2 minutes after you start driving. Next time in the morning, jump in the ol supra, start it up and take off right away, boost to the max...see how far you will get :icon_razz Very, very bad for the turbo.
considering to run a vehicle you have to get the correct ratio of air/fuel, for a turbo you need a lot more fuel flow to match the increase in air flow. I'm not sure if the NA uses a different pump than the turbo though.
Shaeff, I just tried driving around with the cap off. Nothing....still runs the same shitty way. When I test my TPS for resistance it brings up all the correct numbers, so the electronic components of it are fine. I'm not sure about the clearances on the throttle body however.
Of course it doesnt:icon_razz It just seems odd that I started getting a code 51 minutes after i took off the charcoal cannister and started running the car. Thats the one and only time this car has ever ran a code since I bought it.
