The only lighter side of replacing the EGR and the modulator is that it was about 20 years old and needed replacing anyways(i'll repeat this to myself until I believe it)
and HOPEFULLY my testing of the vsv was correct.Even without voltage going to it,according to the TSRM,there sould be...
I think I may have found the culprit!
I had a little time today, and pulled the VSV,and as per the TSRM directions and tested it.
No airflow through it with 12v,and no airflow while it was dis-connected.
Part # 25860 vsv $73.20 at Jay Marks...ouch!
Okay, does anyone out there have a good one...
I remember seeing a section where it had all codes and thier meaning.
I'll have a look to see if I can find it.
Thanks everyone for your input!
Just curious if Supramania members still get a discount at Jay Marks Toyota!
Well I checked that section, and at the very bottom it had a part about testing the water temp sensor.
I don't know if it had anything to do with affecting the EGR,and that's why I asked.
The only thing left is the EGR temp sensor and the VSV.
I'll be checking those this weekend.
Just remember that you need to check the tires cold, say on a 40 psi tire, and it reads at 36lbs,your fine.
Driving around will cause friction which in turn will cause your tires to increase in psi,why I don't know.
Can a bad water temperature sensor affect the functioning of the egr sysrem?
I have replaced the egr and modulator and am srtill getting a code 71.
I do think the water pump is failing if that helps.
maybe this will help, got it from 92TealSupra,yeah,ya gotta watch it around here sometimes, there are PLENTY of Supra owners that don't mind helping, then there are others who offer useless info
I think the a/c fan/s kick on at a temp higher than the stock clutch fan is supposed to.
now that you have an elc fan,the cooling system might not be working correctly. do you have any type of temp sensor for the a/c fan?
i have the otterbox cover on my iPod,and it sits securely in the the old TEMS location(got the tray from a non-TEMS Soop)and i connect the iPod to my stereo through the headphone jack.on the other end it goes to the AUX IN on the head unit.
you don't have to have a head unit, could just go to...
From what i've read,LCD's use less power and run cooler than plasma monitors.
I bought a 52"Sharp Aquios and it has to be the best investment i have made so far.
It's great for the PS3 and satellite tv. I also use it as a computer monitor.
