The battery is at 12.2 v and on a trickle charger,just checked the tail lights and found that thr brake lights,tail lights and turn signals all work,but no reverse lights.The bulbs are still good,checked them with a meter.
Does the engine have to be running to check the reverse lights? I'm not...
I have been suffering from the "no start-click" for a few weeks now.All I get is a "click" from the relay in the passenger side,and will be doing the 30 amp relay mod soon.
BUT that's not the issue.

Ok,I have a 1991 Supra with an automatic tranny.
Recently I have been suffering from the "sometimes it starts and sometimes it don't" issue,and now have a weird prob.
It won't start in Park,but I can put it in Neuteral,and it will start.WTF?!?!?!
Is there a switch down there that may be...
i have a simalar prob.got juice but no start.
i have a 1991 turbo auto that sometimes only starts in nuteral while hitting the little lock button on the side of the gear selector
my own design.had it bent up and powdercoated using a permacool puller and the stock a/c fans

i have a PWR that had issues with the shroud.3 of the blades basically climbed over and got stuck and wasted a new clutch fan.
only thing i saw was that the new radiator was of course thicker,thereby making the radiator closer to the fan,now im coolin with an elc fan
Possibly a bad alternator?Can you have it checked?What is the charging situation according to the gauge on the dash at idle?Could you have possibly pinched a wire on the motor install?

Now you state there is shaft play on your turbo?That could possibly be what is allowing oil into the system,correct me if i am wrong.
Your over heating is another thing.Did you have adequate fluid in the radiator?

Racing a heavier car vs the smaller 240 with it's stripped interior and mods is a no-brainer.
If the Supra owner had some of the same mods and stripped interior,it would have been more of a fair fight,hell he might have...
the supra is considered a "luxury sport CAR",so it's going to be heavy.
replace the seats,hood,lighter wheels,alum radiator,and it's STILL going to be heavy.
I have Nitto 555's on all corners.Except for thier ability to find nails on every road I drive on,the tires handle great.From what i've read,they are a dry season tire.
I have the same problem.If my car sits for a day or two,i'll get white smoke on start-up.It disapates and goes away.I'm not losing any water,no milk shake under the oil cap!
I think it might be my valve stem seals,as I barely passed smog on mine.
