The EGT is not necessary, but gives you more info.

I'm not in New York.
Everything I used, from wiring the wideband and the afc in - to the worksheets I used to tune, I have provided in my sig. I can try to answer any question you have about those.

If you're asking me, I did. I used my ZT-2 wideband logs and the Gain Adjustment Worksheet I made, posted in my Sig, to tune mine.

Is it because:
You want the firmware info off your NEO ... iirc ... Just apply +v to red/white and ground to brown of the 4pin connector. You will be able to cycle through screens on the NEO. You can use your car battery or even a 9V will power it up.
