I was wondering how many people are running one piece driveshafts in their Supras. Any clearance issues with stock exhaust placement or anything else I should know before having the driveline shop build me one? What was Toyota thinking anyway? "Truck-style driveshaft" behind a "truck motor" I guess.
Know of any diagrams or anything online? Did you have to pull the center console? I hate interior work. Pulled several dashes before, always seems like there's one or two well hidden bolts.
On my way to work this morning noticed that sickly sweet smell of antifreeze. Hmmm, that's odd. And my windsheilds fogging up when it's almost 70 and low humidity. My heater cores leaking! Anyone replaced one on these mkIIIs? Does the dash have to come out or is accessable from underneath it or...
Yeah, like souprat said, don't get caught up in the moment and pick up one that may not be the best deal! I just bought my first Supra two weeks ago and pretty much did just that. It was sort of rough but driveable. Well, it's real rough, it's been used and abused badly. But it was $700 so why...
I just had to change the high pressure hose on mine. About $70 from oreilly. Hardest thing was threadin it in place. It's a long piece of metal hard line with about 6 inches rubber on either end and it snakes between the rack and frame over to the driver side. I unbolted pass side of rack from...
Well, thanks. I should have time to tear into it tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's in the top end and not rod knock or anything. The story about the other guy that bent a cam was intriguing. He said it happened after redlining his motor. I'm sure the previous owners of mine all tested the...
I recently hooked up a MSD 6AL to an old ford 302, it was fairly easy to follow the instructions if you know what wires are what on the car. Get some wire-loom covering (convoluted tubing) and shirink wrap and solder for the splices- at least make sure it looks clean.
Ok, some inspiration from the thread on figit090s BHG problems- at least I have a Supra. Since I didn't pay much I should earn it somehow. Any ideas for cheaper-than-dealership-but-quality OEM-like valvetrain parts or affordable cam kits? What do you think?
I'm new here because I just bought my first Supra- a ragged out '86.5 that after changing oil started to show nasty top-end noise. It could be heard ever so slighty before, so I didn't think it was serious, but with 10w30 it was stupid loud! 20w50 and 1 qt of lucasoil later it's quieter but...
