On the whole, that's a good article. I do have some serious problems with a couple of his assertions.
First, his claim that all Japanese coilovers are crap is ridiculous. This is a guy who is in the business of rebuilding/revalving shocks and admitedly does not have access to parts from all...
That link was probably moved here: http://www.mkiiitech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116
My post in that thread also has dead links. The current links are:

Alignments are pretty individualized, and the ideal settings will change based on intended use of the car, ride height, spring stiffness, roll stiffness, etc. This is my rough guess of where you should start (and anyone else reading this thread -- my recommendation probably wouldn't be the same...
stock pressure plate, feramic clutch... stock driveability & pedal pressure, 400+tq capacity, no additional loads on the engine's thrust washers.
George @ Raptor sells the aforementioned kit for a very good price, I'll be buying one myself shortly...
Just to state the obvious -- don't fill the reservoir over the "fill" line. If you are, it would be normal for a perfectly operating cooling system to continually puke out the excess coolant...
I drove with straight pipe for a couple of years. Its raw, unrefined, loud, etc. In case you needed another sound clip:

Its no where near as loud as most modified domestics, and I could baby it around the neighborhood without bothering neighbors...
Power mode doesn't unlock the torque converter... And power mode only works when you are in "D"
Locking up the torque converter basically means that the engine and transmission are spinning at the same speed. A torque converter is a fluid coupling device. When the engine is slowly spinning...
No, and no. An automatically shifted manual is what BMW calls a sequential-manual gearbox (SMG), Toyota calls sequential manual transmission (SMT), Lamborghini/VW calls E-gear, and Ferrari calls F1-somethingorother. It has a clutch, and is completely different from a manumatic (which is a...
The automatic wont let you downshift if you were going to overrev. In fact, it won't let you downshift if you'd be over ~5800rpm in the new gear (this is from 6-year old memory).
High end exotics rarely offer automatic transmissions. Most offer computer controlled/shifted manual transmissions (SMG). These do not have a torque converter, and they really are a manual transmission whose shift/clutch mechanisms are automatically controlled. They are not what I'd consider...
hot rod magazine recorded the best time for a stock mk3 that i know of -- I believe it was 14.9sec (dec 1986 issue). Most magazines ranged 15.2-16.2sec for the turbo
As for stock rwhp -- I dynoed my first mk3 completely bone stock and put down 180-185rwhp on a super old-school dyno in my...
