The 4.0 grand cherokee will be ok, it will do the job. The V8 grand cherokee will do it a bit better. Gas mileage...well, if you want to tow something around your gonna pay for it.

I saw that coming. I have a pair of Boston acoustics 4x6 in the factory rear location. You don't really need anything back there at all. Mine is only used for rear fill. You can't tell they are there unless you turn them off.

I would recommend recovering as many panels as possible. I've done this to some parts of my interior using vynil with contact cement.
I've tried paint before and it ended up scratching and chipping.
