What did you do to your supra today? Pics

What did I do? I confirmed my turbo oil drain is not blocked, cleaned up the compressor housing, replaced a damaged coolant hose, and out it all back together with my new AEM dryflow filter. Too bad, the turbo is shot- leaks oil into the compressor housing after ~30 seconds of running... Guess...

    Cheap easy Front seat upgrade

I'm kinda in the same boat, was surprised when I weighed the OEM seats. But, since I have these seats already and the OEM's are a bit uncomfy for me (there's a bar in the seatback that rubs on my back the wrong way) I'll work with them to get the right fitment. I've never cared about looks...

    Cheap easy Front seat upgrade

Here you all go. Cliffs- Seats fit OK, but are uneven. It could probably be fixed if you really cared about it, but for the most part they are pretty much race seats as far as I'm concerned (comfort isn't an issue). Arguable whether its worth the weight savings or not, but I guess if that last...

    Cheap easy Front seat upgrade

I got a set of Acura Integra GSR seats from a 96, as advertised by the seller. They are black with gray/white patterns on the center section of the seat. They are smaller than Supra seats, so they're easier to make fit, but they do make a decent gap between the center console and the seat. Might...

    Cheap easy Front seat upgrade

Well I found a set and put them in. It's not a direct bolt-in scenario, and they still need some tweaking before I'd consider it a good swap, but the weight difference is significant. Had a couple people sit in the car and not notice, besides the awkward seat position. Decent color match to my...

    Cheap easy Front seat upgrade

He hasn't been on in a week so who knows what happened. I think I'll see if I can find a set of these seats locally and try it out. If it works, I'll let y'all know. If it fails, I'll let y'all know. Sounds like shenanigan time!

Running dual MK4 Denso fuel pumps? Advice appreciated

Not a direct comparison, but my Aeromotive Stealth 340 pump made 620whp on E-85 when the second one died. I could totally see a 400 doing a lil more.

    Aftermarket Tow Hooks

Looks nice, but I'd want one for each side, and I'd be worried that it won't clear the IC pipes. If it can work, I'm all for that style!

    Aftermarket Tow Hooks

It generally is, but the ones I've used needed some flex for pulling out of ditches at an angle, the AL ones I had originally used just snapped off and left the car stranded. Those were upgraded to steel for that reason only. Aluminum ones can work, but they are generally closer to the frame...

    Aftermarket Tow Hooks

I'd be interested in a set that is able to get past my intercooler piping! My stock front hooks were much too low, so they've been removed. I can provide pictures if it'll help. I'd also want 'em to be steel since I've broken a couple AL hooks.

    Flywheel question

Used flywheels can be had used from our classifieds section for relatively cheap in most cases. You should have it machined and inspected for cracks before using it, though. I don't like AL flywheels because they don't store much inertial energy, making them less street friendly. They do rev a...

    Flywheel question

Nope, I'd throw it in the trash. As Kyle said, not worth me popping an engine. Go with a new stock flywheel, or a chromoly one from Spec. (I personally don't like AL flywheels)

    Torn Lower ctrl arm bushing.

Looks like too much braking force combined with suspension movement allowed the arm to slowly cut the bushing shoulder off. All you can do is replace the bushings (I'd do all the LCA bushings) and smooth the control arm surfaces as to help prevent them from doing the same thing. Have you hot any...

    Factory ECU programming

Yup, I'm Steve for sure. Only make I know has the adjustment is GM since a couple of the guys I work with used to do GM. I dunno, so many things could be easier if I could touch settings, but then again I know guys in this shop I wouldn't let change my lawnmower oil so yeah...catch-22 I guess.

    Factory ECU programming

I figured 3p would find this one- he's the guy who really knows computer tech. We're still pretty far behind the curve, I mean, I can't even recalibrate the speedometer for wheel changes, nor can I change really anything inside the tune unless it has a reflash. Makes customer complaints...

    Factory ECU programming

I can only speak for Toyota, 'cause that's where I work, but ODB2 port/DLC3 is the access point to the vehicle computer system for sure. Diagnostics, codes, data lists, reflashes, everything goes through that port. Never saw old chips' manufacturing, so I can't say exactly how they were done...
