Today:
Massive day! Gathered up all the remaining parts for the build (although I'm sure I've forgotten something) and hit the car at about 1 today.
By 9pm the motor was out. A word to the wise, pulling a motor is not a one man job! In fact, those of you who can do it on your own...
Today!
I had high hopes of getting a lot done today, as it's a public holiday (Good Friday). Unfortunately, reality had other plans.
I spent most of the morning trying to fab up a circuit for testing my fuel injectors and finally ended up giving up. For those interested, it was a 555...
If I were able to get to mkiiitech (some random issue with DNS from my provider), I could show you a picture!
Ended up obtaining the proper TB from Allan!
Got our broadband connection back up the other day so pics are now much more doable. What exactly was I wanting to post though...
(EDIT)
How bout these:
Supra throttle linkage (minus the auto tranny cable linkage)
and the MX-83 Cressida linkage (with the tranny cable linkage)...
Small update:
I'm still trying to get a throttle linkage for the Supra TB. The one on it doesn't have a cam for the auto tranny pressure plate. Other than that, I think I have everything else ready to go!
I did find a bit of a disappointment this weekend though. The stock 5M exhaust is...
That's cool man - judging by these pics, getting this arrangement to work on my engine would be an exercise in pure madness!
There are two cables tied to that linkage (the one on the valve cover). Are they the throttle cable and the cruise cable? If so, that's totally different to how ours...
I fear I've just confused this further - stupid text based communication ;)
What I meant to say is that I obtained the AC bracket - don't worry about sending that! Just go by the list I sent you last time. If you have it, sweet. If not, no biggie man. In fact, I'll dig up the list and...
Sorry, no the AC compressor bracket! Should have specified. Send me whatever you've already organised. If I end up with two of anything, well, that never hurt anyone did it?
Bracket obtained! Plus a slew of other parts as well! The motor mounts on an MX-83 are alloy though and much thicker than my stamped steel ones. I might have to use a few head bolt washers as spacers...
Pics coming as soon as we get our broadband back up at the new place. Thanks to...
I know how that goes. Progress has stopped on mine because my wife and I just sold our house and have moved into a new place. Got it relocated without incedent so I can start working on it very soon.
Almost there! Just a few things left to do before the real work begins (doing the transplant)! All accessories are installed, just need to torque everything down.
There's a minor concern with the AC bracket. The stock Supra engine mounts are on the middle of the engine, while the Cressida...
Looking good man! You do realise you'll likely beat me in getting this running, don't you? This whole DIY thing whenever possible has probably taken an extra 4 months for me! I'm glad to hear you're getting someone to do the valve job too. Mine weren't bad but if I could do anything again...
