lol cant argue with that! But it sure was fun seeing peoples faces when you beat them in a "rental car". Most don't know that they had a "no-lift-shift" feature so you did not drop boost when shifting.
Hey those SS/TC Cobalts are fun. I had one...all stock with just a Trifecta Tune it's 310hp/360Tq. I loved that car but had to drive it year round, and I live in the Lake Erie snowbelt and work late hours so I reluctantly traded it for a Jeep.
There were a couple bent clips from the former owner hitting curb stops and stuff. So I took the the support bar and straightened it like you said, and fixed the clips that the screws go into. It is much better, but it is not perfectly straight. It will do until I order my shine lip.
Picked it up from the shop today. He only had the car 9 days. All the old bad metal cut out and replaced. I took it to the car wash between rain storms to wash off all the compound and clean up all the dust. I think he did an awesome job, and only $950.
Yep, definately wasn't expecting that much rust under those panels! Glad I got it right into the shop. He is cutting out all the bad metal and replacing. I want this car to last as long as possible!
Pictures of the rust from first day in body shop. I am glad I took it to where I did. His name is Walt and he seemed to be having fun working on it. He is one of these body shop guys who LOVES working on old cars, and has a few himself. The Supra is in good hands.
I bought a 1989 Turbo 5spd that I have known about for about 8 years, from when I first bought my 1987 N/A. The guy is local, very nice guy, but eccentric! I knew him to be someone who took care of the car as best he could. In the last 2 years he did (gave me receipts with mileage written on...
Thanks for the kind words,, but the car has some rough spots too...hence the bodyshop appt. Thanks for the info on the coolant flush. The previuos owner of my car did a lot of maint to it, but I don't think a coolant flush was one of the things he did. So I will!
Even though it has rained every day for 3+ weeks, I managed to buff out and wax the paint on the car. Kinda silly I guess since it's going into the body shop in a few days, but I wanted to see how nice the original paint would get. The whole car isn't getting re-painted, just having the body...
I've only had my 89 for a week, and it is bone stock 5 spd turbo (not even cai) with 131k and I got 24 mpg. And I did a few good pulls to see how she runs :)
The wife will try to do that tomorrow...she's more persuasive than me! They probably won't take it since it is an electrical part, but oh well. She is very persuasive! I can use that $62 for clear corners!
