As far as Ive ever seen, your gonna have to spend around $300-350 on a reliable 2-step (rev controller). Working a foot break is free although not as consistent or fun to do. Your not gonna want to cheep out on a device that controls ignition and or fuel, especially under those conditions...

I would have to agree that the W58 is not an ideal drift trans.
Check for boost leaks. Think about what parts the shop had to take off to fix the gasket and look at ever part for leaks or problems.
Does it fall to 5ish or only boost to it?
Dont cut a hole in your cell. Buy an external pump. They are cheep enough.

This is confusing. What battery are you trying to buy that the OEM cables are too short? is it the difference between a top post and side post? Is the physical size of the battery the problem? Have you relocated the battery somewhere? Pics of your situation always help out.

You should look for reasons that your boosting so low. stock boost should get to about 8psi. check the turbo for play and check for boost leaks.
