I just took apart some spare cracked up 87 tails, there is definitley a white diffuser lense in it I removed it and its definetiley something to remove for the clarity.
I will be posting pictures when I put an array for the stop, turn and reverse.
It wont look blurry the clear corners example has them in there still if you want clarity I'd take them out.
You can seal them back up with the right silcone, water wont ever get in if you have the patients and sense.
