brand new balancer is going to cost you about $400. Probably can find a decent used one that's not chipped, cracked or destroyed where the keyways go.

There's been V8 swaps done before, and I think a couple big blocks. Don't think they'revery well documented though. Do a search for "V8" or "V8 in a mk3" here on the forum.

I know it's not a mk3, but similar enough...RabidChimp made mine; ceramic coated, mandrel bent 3" OD piping, with an AEM bypass filter. I've driven through several large puddles with my 2.5" lowered car and have not had any issues. I suggest getting some U bends, 90 degree pipes...

step 1. get yourself a mk3 with no engine or drivetrain step 2. get big block V8 step 3. mock up V8 into mk3 and then determine how difficult shit is going to be after that. I think a 455 is a great choice. SUCH a torque monster!
