I hit the gas, and hope it stays in one piece ;)
In all honesty, the rear-end will hold up to a lot in these cars. As for the subframe, I have heard of people snapping them, but have seen very few actually broken. I've seen even fewer that people actually took the time to beef up, so I...
As a member of the "I blew a 1JZ" crowd, I will agree with what everyone is saying.
Keep the car until you can afford to put a 1.5JZ into it, and don't look back.
I seized my motor coming off the highway, and locked my rear-end up .....
.....then I got made fun of all weekend by other Supra...
Damn you. I need one.
Ok, the Water pump, and hydro pump are one unit. People ususally swap it out for a non-hydro fan water pump beacuse then they don't have to worry about sourcing the other pieces of the hydro fan system, like the hydro fan ECU, the fan itself, the cooler, finding a place...
Mine was 4" WITH tow hooks AND hydro fan cooler ;)
I'm just messing with you, nice install. Except I see gay straps coming from the top of your rad support :)
I have 3 sets of wheels for my Supra right now actually :) Summer, Winter, and Track. The reason I asked is that I have grip issues on the street. If he says they're deadly in the rain, that's reason enough for me to NOT run them all the time.
Slightly bigger than what? Bigger than a CT12A, yes they are. Bigger than a CT12B? I'm not sure.
My friend tuned an aristo running stock sequential setup. That thing was making 7psi by 1800 rpm. Not many MKIVs can do that.
Don't bother with the damper, just run solid motor mounts.
I kept ripping apart stock mounts so I just trashed them. Vibrations are not THAT bad. Even my 1.5JZ with a lumpy idle isn't all that bad.
Yeah, people really shouldn't be afraid of fitting an intercooler in. it's not that hard.
Mine was all custom work done by me. First time attempting something like this.
A little patience, and it worked out very well. Uses stock mounting locations, replaces the latch support, and PS cooler...
Depending on how much material is on the wheel, you might be able to get a machine shop to machine down the inner mounting surfacea a bunch to increase the offset.
2.5 GT Twin Turbo Limited I believe had it as an option.
It's not an option for the R. Hell, the R never even had ABS as far as I'm aware.
The mounts should be one piece. If they came apart, you need new mounts. Might as well go for solid mounts :)
