    Calgary: Secret Street May 16

launch much ;) I was doing 13.6@103 last year on street tires. You should be able to break 13s easily with that trap speed, assuming you can get a good start. What are you running for tires in the back? I just picked up my TT fuel pump, and drag slicks this afternoon. gotta get my car...

    Thinking of buying some tools.

Are you using old craftsman equipment, or new stuff? Their old stuff is pretty robust. The new stuff, it's cheaper. I've broken two craftsman ratchets in the last year. One old one, which admittedly, had lived a long life. It was probably 20 years old. The only thing that broke on it was the...

    Whodathunkit!? (Another Repair Blunders Thread)

That happened to a friend of mine. He has a 75ish dodge pickup that he swapped a Cummins B59 into. Went to the gas station, and the attendant put gasoline in it. Fortunately, the truck had 3 fuel tanks, and he noticed the attendant's mistake before starting the motor. It was quite funny...

2 & 6 (batch ) not firing. ECU issues? help is appreciated!

Yes it will. It's a 'temporary' solution, as what you're doing is running one of the three injector drivers at double its rated load. They're pretty robust, but it could fail on you in the future. Of course, then you would just be back to where you are right now. Like I said, I ran my car...

    Whodathunkit!? (Another Repair Blunders Thread)

I once dropped the fuel tank in my friend's car who insisted the pump was bad. ......the car was fucking out of gas.

any one really miss their first car?

I really missed my 83 Celica GT :p That's why I bought it back. It was going to be scrapped, so I bought it, and am in the process of fixing it, to sell to a good home.

    Thinking of buying some tools.

Seeing as how you do have access to tools for now, I would have suggested maybe starting out with some slightly more expensive tools that will last you a lot longer, but it's kind of hard to argue with a gift certificate. I say why not, it's not a bad starting socket set. In the future, when you...

    Speed racer!

Awesome movie. Go see now. Granted, I'm a big fan of the old cartoon, but we even had non-car people go, and enjoy this movie. Definitely worth the price of admission. I'm so pumped now! I want to go drive!

IIRC, electrical resistance goes up exponentially as the gap increases.

Why dont the people at autozone, pepboys, strauss, etc HAVE NO Clue when it comes 2 cars

I went into a parts store the other day. I needed a fuel fitting. I brought the pump in with me. "I need an o-ring fitting just like this one I have in my hand, to screw into this pump." "Let me take a look at that. Yeah, looks like 1/2". This one will work" -Tries to screw it in- "Dude, your...

Getting the primer off my hood

I went through a similar problem with my Celica: car when I got it: Car after a few hours of sanding: I used 220grit in my electric sander, put the hose on the hood, with a little trickle to keep the surface wet. Went fairly quickly actually. After the 220, you could spray down some new...

    misses when under hard bost

if you gapped them to .032, then re-gap them to .028. It'll make a world of difference.

2 & 6 (batch ) not firing. ECU issues? help is appreciated!

You would be surprised how un-important injector timing is. If your injectors are running anything more than about 25% duty cycle, at some point they'll be spraying on closed valves anyways.

Kinda Supra related but not so much.

I know this woman at work, late 40s. We talk cars sometimes, as hers was always breaking down. Then she asked me one day, "what do you drive?" "A Supra." "Supra? I had one of those in 88" "What did you do with it?" "I crashed it :(" I thought it was funny because she's this tiny old little...

    JZ is sick :(

I came to a realization today on the way home. I was cruising normally, then decided to boost it to see how rich it was running. hit 15psi, running about 10:1, started sputtering a little from too much fuel. I let off, then stopped at the next light where the car just died on me. Was running too...

Do you guys feel weird when...

I remember ordering some JZ parts way back when. "I need a serpentine belt for a 94 Supra Twin Turbo." The guy literally jumped across the counter to look out the window. "Relax, I just have the motor" He looked so dissappointed when he saw the MKIII.

    21st birthday stories

You want drinking stories? I have good drinking stories :) But I can't remember for the life of me what I did for my 21st. Not because I drank too much, just because I plain can't remember.
