Oh sweet I'm totally down with the do it yourselfers! also since you do have your engine apart you may want to go with arp main bolts and rod studs, they are well worth the money and will save you headaches from bearing troubles, have a friend that rebuilt his 7mgte and his number two main...
Sweet! GL with your build I hope you get to enjoy your car for many miles. Oh I forgot to mention you said you were going to upgrade your intercooler, you might already know this but replacing the piping and connections is a good idea! (You might have already done this lol) you don't want a...
Pistons, rods, 7m have a forged crankshaft but have it checked anyway, most machine shops will check it for free, if its good have it polished, and keep all your parts very very clean, use latex gloves when you install the main & rod bearings so oil from you hands dosent get on the bearings
Why are you going with such a large injector size? did you just happen to have a set of 680's laying around or are you going to buy them?
edit - i dont know what all modifications you have done to your vehicle bro, but if it's just the lex afm and the safc i just dont see the point of running...
Ford makes a nice all aluminum 4valve modular engine, but verrrrrry expensive, and to my knowlege chevrolet has only atempted a modular v8 one time - 1991 ZR-1 corvette very very hard to find parts for tht particular engine. Dylan i just now read your signature and lmao, i shift my NA at 6500...
LOL maybe I'll just go with a turbocharged dual vvti 3sge lol. I really want to keep my mk3 all toyota, ive done quite a few gm and ford v8 and v6 swaps into toyota pickups and yeah they're sweet but my car is a different story. I want a quiet, reliable engine with more power then your average...
Well I have had no such luck even finding a 2UR, the search continues. And for the moment I'm debating on purchasing a 1975 toyota corolla te31 so my 7m will have a home after the mk3 gets the new powerplant
and they're very hard to find lol, i was just thinking the direct injection would be cool, and they have the option for hybrid drive lol, a 500 hp hybrid supra?
you sir, are a genius :) i just want to hear what it sounds like. very cool project btw, v12 vvt-i and boost = pure bliss. adding nitrous for further excitement?
Thanks for the info :) I'm definitely going 1uz-fe, will start my build in june and will hopefully have it 100% complete before december, i would start sooner but i have to gather parts:) oh cost is no issue, not really worried about racing other supras, just seeing one in my area is a rarity.
I know its been done, i wanted info from the people who have done the swap, and if its worth my time and money. If it turns out that i dont like the idea of swapping in a lex v8, then i might decide to go with a 2uz-fe, or maybe even switch manufacturer's and drop in a TPI 375 sb. Truly what im...
the supras still purrin like a kitten, ive put just under 12,000 miles on it since last july lol. Totally understand about hangin on to the parts car, stuff like that is hard to find in wa. Have junkyards around here with a few n/a's i've been robbin parts off of. just lookin for some more power...
Hey fellow supra owners, just wondering if anyone has done a 1uz-fe conversion in their mkIII? If so was the swap worth it? Run into any serious issues? not alot of info on the 1uz on Supramania, i'll keep searching the web but i would rather have Supramania opinions. Thanks
If you sir think I would go through all that trouble just because you don't believe me, then you are sadly mistaken. ,Also, I do not race these people I said "challenged" which is the annoying part. Anyway big spoilers look ridiculous but if you only drive on the street its not really functional...
