Bolt on LT1 cars make low 300hp if they're lucky. They weigh about the same as you do, not really seeing the surprise here. If it was from a dig, he'd have beat you for a good while. LT1s are nasty from digs.

There are Z car guys making ~270rwhp on stock 12V SOHC heads on top of a 3.1l stroker motor (L28 2.8l base), I don't understand why a 7M can't do the same or similar from a decent stroke increase, nasty cams and some serious port work.

It's easier to use crimp connectors, and if you need to redo it or undo it later it's easier to replace a crimp connector than resolder it. Most people have never soldered before, and don't have a soldering iron, which adds to the complications. As far as conductivity is concerned, either should...

He said it happens when he's at very light throttle, so I doubt that would be the problem. Wouldn't that also show up in RPM surging? If it's doing what I think it's doing it's definitely not motor related at all. Diff clunking? Would have been nice to know that from the get go! :3d_frown: lol

I've seen the youtube vids of that thing, it's BAMF. I also like the V6 ST165s, pretty neat if your 3S kicks the bucket and you can't rebuild it and don't wanna pay a LOT for another one. I'm personally doing a BEAMS 3SGE or a half trac sixth gen sometime in the future.

They quit making real Z cars way before that.

You also live in the UK, we don't have a wide variety of cars that can do that over here yet. IJ is making what, like 250rw right now? My car (when it runs :rofl:) makes 350rw and I got 22MPG mixed, lots of boosting. Similar mileage to IJ on highway. For comparison, my buddies (5.7l) Z28...
