    Low Idle

The car will start, but it won't hold an idle. The rpms will jump around really low, and it will usually stall unless I rev the engine a couple of times, then it will begin to idle. When I said that it takes several attempts to start the car I meant that the car won't hold an idle and will...

    Low Idle

I actually dont have a turbo motor, so I would think that the whole engine bay stays a little bit cooler. I don't think it is that big of a problem either, but it can get annoying when it takes several attempts to start the car. It might just be that it has been an above average summer this year...

    Low Idle

I have been researching this, and it sounds like it may be the problem. Is there any way to tell if it is the problem, or any way to prevent heat soak?

Anyone seen this color MK3 before?

If you call your toyota dealer, and give them your VIN then they can tell you what your factory color code is.

    Low Idle

Well the problem is still here. I noticed that my efi relay in the fuse box by the battery was getting very hot, and was discolored so I went to the dealer to order a new one. It should be here either Saturday or Tuesday. I asked the parts manager if this could be causing the hot start problem...

    Stock Exhaust Tips

Yeah I know. It was just one of those little things that bothered me so I took care of it, and it no longer bothers me and it looks good.

    Stock Exhaust Tips

It was all by hand. I used a couple of microfiber cloths for the polish and the other stuff I put on.

    Stock Exhaust Tips

Thanks. If I had not taken breaks, and would have known before I started that WD-40 takes off tar it probably would have taken me two hours to do both. The hardest part was getting all of the tar, and the caked on black stuff off. The grime that was on the outside of the tips came off really...

    My First Car

The other day I got my new master cylinder from Driftmotion. They seemed to be the best option, considering that it is a new OEM master cylinder, and was cheaper than getting a non-OEM brand at a place like AutoZone. Now I just need to replace it. Today, I also polished my exhaust tips. I...

    Stock Exhaust Tips

Today, I polished them with TurtleWax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover. There was alot of splattered tar on them so I used WD-40 and Bug and Tar Remover to get that off, and then I put two coats of wax on them. Here are a few pictures of the results. This is what they looked like before...

    Stock Exhaust Tips

Today, when I was at the Toyota dealer I asked if he could look up if they were chrome. He did look it up and said that they are chome, so now I just need to polish them.:naughty:

    Stock Exhaust Tips

I want to polish my stock exhaust tips, because they are getting dull and dirty. I think that they are chrome, but I was hoping that someone could confirm this for me before I use chrome polish on them. Thanks, Gavyn

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure I had enough.

    Brake Fluid

Well, my master cylinder is leaking so I ordered a new one from Driftmotion. I was just wondering if anyone knows about how much brake fluid I will need to install\bleed my new master cylinder, and flush all of my brakes. The car doesn't have ABS, and is an 87 N\A. Thanks, Gavyn

    My First Car

I forgot to list that the car does have the sport package. Is their anyway to tell if the headgasket has been replaced? What are some pros and cons to polyurethane sway bar bushings?

    My First Car

Thanks for all of the compliments. Update: The clutch in my car was replaced at a local import shop, and I also added some cupholders to my mk3. My brake master cylinder is also leaking where it connects to the booster, so I ordered a replacement from Driftmotion and am waiting for it...

Need Advice Putting My 86.5 MKIII Back Together

To replace the rear hatch struts you have to take off all of the rear interior panels and the back seats, so you can get to the bolts under the sail panels that cover the rear quarter windows. It is a pain but is well worth it. I don't think that you can make it into a targa top if it wasn't one...

Best oil for N/A with 71k miles

I went with non-synthetic, because I didn't want the synthetic to clean out my seals and allow my engine to leak, since I drive this car daily. I went with 5w-30 because it was the lowest cold start viscosity I could get in a 30 weight non-synthetic oil. I chose Valvoline MaxLife because it...
