The only reason I know you can get them new from the dealer is because I broke mine when I took the door panels off to change the speakers. It wasn't until after I broke all of the clips that I found the instructions on how to take off the clips, and the part numbers.
I replaced the VSV last sunday, and so far I have only got a hot start problem once during the week, and it really wasn't that bad. The car just idled at 500 for a little while, but once I gave it some gas it was fine. It didn't do what it was doing before with hardly being able to keep running...
I am probably going to get some of the NXT 2.0 this weekend and try it out sometime in the next week.
I am assuming that the wiper arms had a semi gloss finish when the car was new, like the new cars do now? Also, is the trim paint like what Conor mentioned, the best to use for a factory like...
Hey guys, I have a few questions, and was hoping someone has used these products before, or can comment on them before I go out and spend money on them. My car is an 87 Silver Supra, with original paint and 76k miles.
1) I found this thread where this guy did a very in depth detailing on a...
I have been keeping up with your build thread lately, and you are going to have quite a Supra once you get it all put back together. It's real easy to tell that you have a true dedication to your Supra.
I also saw that you posted in a for sale thread and asked about removing the door lock...
I got the new VSV in today from toyotapartseast.com. Hopefully I will get to installing it sometime this weekend, and find out if it has been causing my hot start problems.
That looks really good!
It would be really cool if you would do that. The original window sticker is one of the few things that I don't have for my car.
Thanks for all of the help and information guys, I definitley appreciate it. I just ordered a new vsv to replace my old cracked one. I figured that while it is off I might as well replace it since it is cracked. Once, the new vsv gets here I will install it and see if it fixes the issue. I will...
Here's an update. I got the vsv off, and did the TSRM tests on it and it passed all of them. I also checked the connector on the wire harness to make sure it was getting a signal, and it was. The only thing that I did notice about the FPU VSV was that mine had a crack going right down the middle...
Good luck with getting the work done on your Supras. I don't think I have ever seen either of your Supras in our area. It seems like I only ever see white mk3 Supras in the Hunstville area.
Thanks for the reply jetjock. The reason I think it is my FPU VSV is because there is vacuum on the line at all times, including during the initial 90 seconds after a hot start, and that is when I have the problem(during the intial 90 seconds). Also, when I disconnect it during the intial 90...
Hopefully someone can answer some questions I have about the fuel pressure up vsv on my 87 7M-GE Supra. I have been having a hot start/heat soak issue, and I think I have finally found out what is causing it. I think it is the fuel pressure up vsv, because when you start it when it is hot, and...
What exactly do you mean?
If you want to know where I got the clip from, I bought them from my local toyota dealer. The part number is 75039-14020, and there is a total of 5 of them along the moulding piece.
I love the way it has a purple tint to night. Good luck with getting your next Supra. Even though it is a hardtop, you can still put the windows down like I do!
