My car made a loud popping sound when it was turned to full lock also. For me it was the little plastic covers that go over the steering stops. They had worn through the plastic covers and there was metal on metal creating the sound. My car is on stock springs and struts though...
Thanks! I haven't spent that much. The car only has 83k miles on it and had like 70k when I got it. The only major thing that was replaced was the clutch, everything else was small stuff like power steering lines, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, clutch master and slave cylinder, tires, etc.

If you got the diameter of your sway bars someone may know what kind they are, or if they are just painted stock ones since you said there are no markings.

Well I got it after messing with it some more. I guess the new poly bushings were so tight compared to the old rubber ones that they were causing the hole in the bracket to not line up just perfectly. With a lot of pressure on the front of the bracket I was able to get the bolt in.
Yeah, nothing is ever easy. If you replace the sway bar bushings and you have an earlier Supra, you cant use the kit energy suspension has for the rear bar on our car. It doesn't fit the early models. I learned this a few weeks ago also...
