Ivy Johnson, Supra legend, has passed away

Sorry to be the one to pass this along. (You kids, this man was a legend in the early Supra days, and a dear friend.) Ivy, you will be missed. I've got my own stories about Ivy, but not today. Maybe later. They are all epic. The man was a complete trip...

    Replacment Headlights.

The guy "Stump" that posted that review is a friend of a friend. Serious off-road people. (These guys do that nutty rock crawling stuff) I've seen some of the stuff that Stump has built, if he says it's good, I suspect it probably is.

    So looking for some Glass

The general rule of thumb for good optics, is to spend as much on them as you did on the weapon you're mounting them on... Now, with that said, I recently put my hands on one of these: http://www.millettsights.com/scopes/trs/ And I was stunned at how good the glass is on these. This scope's...

Found a dead computer, hard drive has files...should I get the drive to the owner?

That drive is dying, no amount of formatting is going to make it reliable again. As for contacting the previous owner. That's really up to you. However, you may be opening a can of worms that you don't want to deal with. While there are ways to make yourself truly anonymous so you could contact...

    Slight malfunction.

It could very well be. If the bend in the pin prevents it from retracting into the bolt face, it would hit the primer as it's driving the round into the chamber, and cause the round to fire before the bolt is fully locked closed. That looks very much like what happened.

    Slight malfunction.

Yea, that's a slam fire out of battery discharge. The only real way that can happen is a weapon malfunction. Weak springs, rough slides -- something. PS - Comparing a hi-point .45 to a 1911 is like driving an S-10 pickup truck to see what you'd think about driving a Supra, they both have inline...

    Slight malfunction.

Fullnelson, like poo said, an out of battery discharge, most likely caused by a slam fire. Is the firing pin protruding from the bolt? (Not a 100% sure thing as the firing may have pushed it back in. Can you show us a close up of the primer and a close up of the boltface? Regardless, that's...

Any AR-10 owners here? I'm looking for one, Stuck between Armalite and DPMS...help

Eh, I had a Barrett 98 Bravo chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum for a while. My answer would have been the same; "Entertainment". The problem with this particular form of entertainment east of the Mississippi was finding a place to shoot it that had long enough ranges. Not to mention the price of...

    No.1 Cylinder Issues....need help/advice

Supra motors don't have valve lash, they use shims. There are no "adjustments", you have to replace the shims if they are out of spec. Also, they don't have followers (rocker arms), they are a DOHC design that has the cam lobes riding directly on the shim buckets that are directly on the...

Bars 1 step head gasket fix?

I'm closing this thread as the OP obviously only wants people to tell him this is an OK idea, and, based upon what I know of the knowledge level on this forum, most of us are going to tell him this is not a good idea. This is simply a flamewar waiting to happen. Good luck.
