yup it is spot welded in, dont cut out the old one, if your buddy's shop does auto body repair they would have a spot welder remover, a special drill bit, that is to remove the original spot welds. then have it spot welded back in, really shouldnt need bondo to do any of that work. <--...

was just curiouse just did a search and didn't find any results, what is the factory hp/tourqe #'s on the 1j, and what gear ratio are the 1J guys running? reason is i have always heard the 1J sucks at tourqe and i had also mating an xtra 4:30 diff i have behind it.. anythoughts?

wrong, they are welded in, shouldn't be a problem to get it replaced by a reputiable body shop.

might help to tell if u used the 1j auto or the 7m auto.

wow, destroyed a good engine in the yard, what a waste, and if that 84 didnt have a 7m engine in it, that crank pulley will not work, you just wasted your time. thanks for playing

on the dash above the clock will be 1 2 or 3 lights normal is 1 light sport is 2 lights hard (under hard brakeing, accelerating or turns in the steering wheel given by feed back from the steering wheel will show 3 lights can also be moded to stay on hard (dont know how)

that could be, when i had my 86MKII the auto parts store would always give me 86.5 + brakes and other parts, got tired of it and just asked for 85 parts, all the same, although that could be the oil pump seal. dont have one here atm just put it on the block few weeks ago
