ok, someone mentioned pcv valve.
I fail to find a typical pcv valve on my car. the service manual shows pcv lines and a orifice on the tb. The 2 breathers are plumbed back to my airfilter similarly to a stock set up, (I built a adapter that allows the gases to go back to the turbo inlet) the...
Thanks, You bring up a good point because even after this rebuild and everything I have done, I have failed to even check the pcv valve in a very long time.
I was recently in the "3000" pipe area and there was no oil at all in it or on the TB. Not using any oil or blowing smoke so this may be...
I have to think if it was the valve cover gaskets Id have evidence from there down to the manifold.
I swear the threads were slimy like oil was coming from the bolt. I will have to look again, may just put sealant on there and see what happens.
On second thought maybe dye would work in oil...
wtf?
I scanned my fsm and maybe I missed it. Is there supposed to be sealant applied to the bolt that is on top of the intake manifold closer to the alternator?
I seem to have a oil seeping leak that builds up on the intake runner. I thought it was gas and actually had a gas leak at one point...
I went to the toyota parts counter, he had oil pan gaskets sitting there in a candy jar.. Was giving them out for free.
It did look like paper, nothing special but sealed for me.
Does that valve cause any loss of clearance? It looks like it could hit something on a lowered car...
finally confirmed its the an adapter on the fuel rail.
the mating surface to the swivel seal fitting had a very tiny ding in it, smaller the half the size of a match head..
I tried polishing it but it did not fix it, very tight tolerance required..
It was hard to spot the leak because it...
I finally isolated my seeping fuel leak.
The an adapter on my rail has a minute ding in it causing a seal problem that just lets a slight film of gas seep down the rail...
It looks like the adapter is a 6an to 1/2 20 threads.
Can someone confirm? Is that the right thread on the fuel rail...
well today, for the first time i think i spotted wetness ontop of the fuel rail. that leads me to believe its the an fitting and braided hose going to the rail.
last thing i need is a engine fire..
Anyone got any ideas on how to spot a fuel leak?.
On my supra the only evidence I have is fuel puddling on top of the first intake runner intermittently. It does not leak when I am watching and everywhere else is dry as I think it evaporates from all the heat.
I dont think there is any dye...
Im skeptical of anything remand especially ac compressors.
Mine was compressing fine so Im just wondering if anyone has experience with replacing all the seals. Maybe that would be just as good as a remanned.
Hello,
About 2 yrs ago the top of the comp manifold seal blew so I replaced it.
Replaced the evap, filter and one of the lines. Charged it up with R12, new oil and it worked good.
Then the engine rebuild started. Motor is finally running but now the seals in the compressor are leaking so...
i have the same damn problem on my new engine.
seems like this is right up there with bhg.
maybe i will try paper like someone mentioned.
ive done copper and now teflon.
i never heard of the jiggle valve trick.
sounds like something i will try soon.
i believe it was air or my aftermarket sender is whacky, i witnessed it one more time and watched my ecu temps simultaneously. when the real temp was rapidly rising from 180-200 thats when the gauge spiked, but...
Seems like bilsteins are the best of the shocks, if I was going with coilovers Id want the best of those too.
I think shocks are easier to install so also..
I have not done either as Ive been working out quirks with my rebuild.
Had a corroded fuse connection and a couple loose wires wreak...
Hello.,
I have the stock 190 tstat.
Monitoring my ecu temps gives me readings of 200-205 degrees.
Is this normal?
I suspect a sticky tstat or air in the system.
My other symptom is upon first warm up the gauge spikes 3/4 of way up and then immediately settles back down.
If its air will...
does anyone know the answer to this question?
I would like to know also.
I just pulled the toyos off my car and they were eaten up on the inside. I supsect because the po lowered the car and never even got a alignment.
