Yikes.. How many ft lbs/tq you putting out? Have you looked at the marlin crawler r154? It would be cheaper too just rebuild the r154+cryo treat and possible forms of shot peening. Although the v160 is proven performer there are probably some cheaper alternatives.
Sounds like your harness is in pretty rough shape, if it is that bad might be better to start from scratch with all new wires as opposed to trying a equally old harness and hoping nothing is bad with that one.
Also if your running a cat that miss will eventually melt it.
Keep in mind that if...
I was actually at the car show although I missed your dyno run, that motor doesn't sound like it needs a rebuild to me. Unless it's seen some serious abuse.

Mine will be sitting till I fix everything and make it actually road worthy again.
mk3* appears to have quite a bit of angle, I have to agree with everyone else in trying to change the suspension set up to macpherson would just be a step backwards.
Are you already drifting the car? My first concern would probably be good coilover's and bigger brakes
You might want to try and find some info on the carbon hatch from carbon creations. I'm just guessing but I would think that the stock one is fairly heavy and photo's of carbon creations one appears to be a direct mold of the factory item. But I haven't seen one in person so don't take my word...
