    funny yet dumb question

What mirrors? Just curious thats all. And never said that it was safe in to drive an RHD in the U.S. I know its more Dangerous, but people do way worse on a regular basis IMO.

    funny yet dumb question

Why, because not everyone agrees with your point of view? My car is already registered. There are no legal issues for me to worry about. RHD is perfectly legal in the U.S. For someone that has been in the scene as long as it looks like you have you would know this and actually be more open...

    funny yet dumb question

There are a lot in Canada. But not U.S. as of matter of fact if there is one here in the U.S. its not street legal. If you "know" of anyone that has a real TTR in the U.S. that is "registered" in the U.S., then it is either illegally registered or not a genuine TTR. I have found one or two...

    funny yet dumb question

I guess it all depends on who you talk to. I drove both types and to be honest it was more natural for me to drive on the RHD than the LHD. I miss my RHD supra and will be converting my 89. Not just cause I prefer it and its more natural, but also because I am doing a TTR clone. So I guess...

    Cool/Rare parts thread?

Just curious, where do you find stuff like the brochure's and catalogs? Also, I already admitted to being wrong on the wheel issue. But like someone already said, in japan Lexus is toyota so anything lexus here has toyota labeling there. I will show you the wheels as soon as I get a chance so...

    500whp Reliable for Under 5g's?

Just to kinda give you a little insight, I already have about a grand into the head on my 1j and thats just the vavles and valve springs, and will be spending almost another 1200 for 264 duration cams. Then on the bottom end I have Clevite bearings, 250 there, complete engine gasket and seal...

Odd Creaking Noise From Driver Side Front Wheel

the shake part sounds reminiscent to a warped rotor possibly? The slippage could be due to worn out rotors. You should check it and see if the measurements are with in tolerence.

    Cool/Rare parts thread?

First, TTR's could not have possibly come with sawblades for the sole fact that they were only produced for the years 91-92, 1990 was the last year sawblades came on the supra, 91-92 came with five spokes. Second I will retract my comment about my seven spokes (which is what your mom rocked on...

Need Arp head stud socket help!

If you have a 13 mm deepwell try it. I thought 14 as well, but its not. Which sucked because the size all of my sets did not come with the 13 mm, so I went out and bought one and it worked perfectly. The only thing you will have to be carefull of, is the center of the deepwell might not be...

Need Arp head stud socket help!

I can hook you up., but it might be just easier for you to run to the auto shop or a tool store and look for a 13 mm (FYI exact same size as 9/16) deep well. The base should be thicker than the rest of it so it should be narrow enough to fit. If you want me to mail you mine though I can...

    Cool/Rare parts thread?

No I did some research on my wheels when I found out what I had and those were specific to the TTR in japan. The main thing about them is that they are 16X7.5 in front and 16X8.5 in the back. I have actually seem some on one older lexus here in the U.S. but it has the Lexus logo on it instead...

    changed rear diff, speedometer options

I know I have the 4.30 open diff with my 89 N/A that is equiped with the W58 tranny all stock. Planning on selling your diff?

Car starts but dies unless im on the gas

Should just be a single screw on each mounting flange of the TPS. You loosen them and should be able to rotate the TPS a little in each direction.

    Rear Diff....???

I was wondering was everyones oppinions are on the different diffs out there. Stock ones that is. My diff code is a G284, which from what I have found means that it is an 8 inch, 4.30 open diff. Obviously I want a locking one, but my ques. is, what ratio is, in your oppinion, the better...

how do you supra guys feel about UNIVERSAL 5 lug rims over normal 5 lugs???

Have a look at the back of a wheel before you say that. Hint: it's usually hollowed out between the lugs. I have had a look at the back of a wheel, and I know that they are hollowed out. But there is a difference between being slightly shallower in depth versus being completely drilled...

    1 or 2j

I agree with everyones responses, but one more option you could look into is the PCV. The one for the 2j is directly interchangeable with the 1j, and a lot cheaper. My 1j's plugs kept fowling out because of all the oil in the cylinders, all because the PCV valve was failing. If you haven't...

Car starts but dies unless im on the gas

have you tried adjusting the TPS? Also, I believe the TPS is interchangeable between the 1j and 2j. So shouldn't be hard to find a replacement.
