Sorry for all the questions lately, i'm just trying to get a good referance point on what to start doing to my car. Also this has been the most helpful forum i've found yet.
So onto the question..
The kid before me, replaced the clutch with a Bay City 3000 or 3200lb 4 puck bronze clutch...
I was just wondering if a regular autometer a/f gauge would be worth it?
I really want a wideband o2, in fact i'm going to go with the L1 kit when i get the money.. But for now theres more important stuff to be upgraded (brakes.. mainly) an i just wanna see where its at (or close to it).
My...
Yeah, I'm probly gonna ditch it.. I'm the only one who can really notice a difference between 3 bars firm, an full soft.. Plus the only struts compat. with it are like, 130ish a peice.. If i'm gonna spend that much on suspension i'll go coilover.
For now i'm just gonna go with a good non-TEMS...
I have an 88 with the TEMS system, currently my supra hops more than anything going over speedbumps, and bottoms out constantly on small dips.
I'd like to get a strut compatible with the TEMS (tokiko) but they're a bit too expensive for me at the moment.
Is there any benefit to converting...
Yep, my tail lights have been stuck on, burnt out, numerous times because of that stupid lil sensor in back.. Same situation, people tell me about it, cops dont bother me. -knocks on wood-
I live in FL, my supra has a jdm motor with no emissions, or exhaust for that matter..
Its suprisingly quiet, and cops dont mind..
as long as your not being an ass they wont mess with you.
Chances are i'm not going to do it...
I need this car to be my daily, and I cant afford it to be down.
Let me know if you want it though, i'll get it from the guy.
I think it has around 40k on it, and works fine. Came with the front clip.
I was wondering what your guys' opinion on this is..
I ordered a set of Crossdrilled/slotted rotors for my Supra, as my OEM rotors are warped and have grooves in them.
SO i'd like to know what the best type/brand of pad would be to go with it..
Organic? Metallic? Semi-metallic?
Which one...
Hey..
I was wondering if there was any way to make the JDM digital dash work on USDM supras?
I have a friend (the guy who sold me the car) giving me a whole JDM front clip off a 91, which includes the dash an such.
He was telling me the hump for the steering wheel doesnt line up, and the...
Yeah, I test fitted all the piping today.. and i'm cementing it together.. waiting for it to cure now..
I tried yanking it the other day and i was having a hell of a time..
I'm not afraid to wreck it now.. since the piping is basically all ready to put on, and the car will be sitting til...
I didnt want this to turn into some huge debate/arguement..
i just wanted tips on doing this from people who have/might try..
Oh well..
Thanks for the help John.. I might be emailing you today.. i'll be pulling the stupid lil peice that goes through the fender out today, that way i'll HAVE...
I have the aluminum 1peice from Suprasport.com, they order from the driveshaft shop.. i'm sure HPfreaks order through the same plac.e
But yes it did make a noticable difference, mostly in the way the clutch engages/starting out..
I can bitch about FL all i want, lol, i lived in MN for the first 18 years of my life..
But thats when i had my AWD DSM. But it was rusty as sin, along with every other car i had owned before i moved. I think i deserve a rust free car, lol
Yep, thats what the JBLMK3 site suggested, i'm gonna try it.
I think anything to lower the underhood temps will help.. as I live in FL, and it needs every bit of help it can get.
Thats what i'm talkin about, thanks for the sugg. MDC motorsports, i might just do the upper one in PVC, paint it a nice color so it doesnt look toyish, and use exhaust piping for the lower ICpipe..
I'm also thinking about wrapping the turbo in that special "Turbo Blanket" they sell.. to lower...
I cant tell if your being sarcastic or not, so could you explain how it gives MK3 owners a bad name?
It seems like a pretty good upgrade for less than 30$.. for those of us who cant afford 200-300$ for custom metal pipes..
