Will the A340e auto tranny work with a 2jzGE motor with an appropriate bellhousing?

Hello, I bought a 2jzGE motor to replace the blown 7mgte with rod-knock thats in my 87' supra turbo. Will my stock automatic transmission bolt up to the 2jzge motor with an appropriate bellhousing? edit: I'm not exactly sure which auto transmission I have currently in the car (it's the stock...

    Quick Question - can a 2jz or 1jz bolt up to a stock 87' 7mgte auto?

Would I be able to keep the stock auto thats in my 87 7mgte if I get an appropriate bellhousing? edit: I have a 2jzGE waiting to go in the car.

What can I do in terms of using 7mgte electronics on a 2JZ GE?

Ok guys, it seems like there are some misconceptions here in the replies and I want get everything clear for not only myself, but for others that search the topic as well. It seems as though the 7MGTE electronics, harness, ecu, etc. WILL work fine with a 2JZGE from an early 90's lexus/toyota...

New here..need suggestion for which motor to replace my 87' with a blown 7mgte

^^ Thanks. Need to bite the bullet and run a GE with 7mgte electronics. Hope I won't be in for too much headache doing so! Then again can't be rocket science...plenty of people work on cars and it's time I start wrenching and learning. Glad it's not my daily thats for sure.

New here..need suggestion for which motor to replace my 87' with a blown 7mgte

In all honesty, I'm trying to decide between a 2JZGE motor and 7MGTE. Problem is, I have never had experience with a motor swap and with electronics so I will be learning along the way. Good thing is, I have a daily driver, so time won't be an issue. I'm worried about electronics between going...

What can I do in terms of using 7mgte electronics on a 2JZ GE?

Update question: Can I use the 7mgte electronics (INCLUDING THE 7mgte ECU) for use with a 2jgte or 1jzgte? I'm starting to think it's just easier electronics or wiring wise to stick with a turbo motor since I have a 7mgte

Pro EFI or AEM for basic 67mm build? Auto car originally converted to R154

Hello, So I'm trying to figure out which of these would be easier to tune with (I plan to do my own tuning even though I've never tuned before). Also, I heard a rumor that ProEFI 48 isnt available for auto cars. Not sure if this is due to the auto ecu or what because I do plan to get a R154 as...

    Pro EFI StandAlone ECU

I'm assuming its easy to swap over the ignition? Also, with the proefi 48 is it plug and play and easy to install? Is it easy to tune by yourself or did you feel you had to get an already experienced user to start the car up and tune it?

    Pro EFI StandAlone ECU

Would just getting a proefi 48 (map setup) be better that buying a fuel controller, boost controller, lexus afm, and all that other stuff just to get a 7mgte to boost 18psi without fuel cut and other issues? Also, is the proefi 48 a plug and play standalone? Meaning, is it easy to install...

New here..need suggestion for which motor to replace my 87' with a blown 7mgte

^^ Well, there is an issue and that is, I'd be going from a turbo engine (the 7mgte) to a naturally aspirated engine (the GE). The wiring differences between the two engines could present headaches. Oh yeah... I'm a total NEWB when it comes to electronics and wiring unfortunately (but the point...

What can I do in terms of using 7mgte electronics on a 2JZ GE?

Hmm. I might just have to suck it up and spend the money on a 1jz gte due to the wiring issue of going from a 7mgTe to a 2jzge

Thanks guys so much for the opinions. To my surprise I just recently figured out that I can use the 7mgte electronics on the 2jzge :-) I currently have an automatic tranny btw and this is not going to be my daily driver (I have a camry for that) so I'm going to give this swap the go-ahead...

What can I do in terms of using 7mgte electronics on a 2JZ GE?

I just bought a 1987 MKIII last night and am taking out the blown 7mgte that is in it right now. I'm searching for a 2jzGE motor but may not have many options. I may have to get n engine that comes with a cut wiring harness or no harness all together. Would I be able to use the 7mgte harness and...

Great advice. Thanks again everyone for the advice. To answer some of the questions, My budget for the build is about $5,000 for the motor, the tranny, and the accessories. I have a garage to keep it and I'm not on a typical college budget as I work part time as well. My mechanical skills...

^^^ Oh I know they are money pits but thats not my plan until I finish college. I can't pass up this deal, I'm getting the car for such a great price I can literally turn it around and flip it if I really want. I plan to just get it running and that's all. Do you think I should go for the...
