1jz fly is what you need for a 1jz.. there are plenty of them out there.. yes you need to swap over the tach on a 1jz swap if you want to do things right.
You always always always always do a timing belt package including tensioners when doing any kind of swap. Along with seals etc... but check your belt over really good, and make sure you have the proper coolant level in your resevior.. oh yeah and dont use water for coolant if you are.
They'll whine usually @ 1st, try adding fluid especially if you see none in your reservoir.. if you dont see the fluid spinning about in when shes full try givin her SOME (meaning not much) gas and some left/right turnage.. fluid spinnage? add more till shes level and @ the proper level.. still...
That would depend upon the condition of said used motor :P, but generaly a great idea to tear the motor down and forge it before shooting for the stars.
Well... seeing as you are buying a used motor.. it is quite possible that you may need to do some things to it... It depends on where you buy it as to how beaten it is... Replacing a few seals is a must in a 1jz swap.. but if you arent careful on where you buy your clip/motor then you may get a...
Instead of relocating my battery for running my IC piping.. I just ran a small battery I bought @ batteries Plus.. ran about 130.. Its about 1/3--1/2 the size of a normal battery. Runs great and is light weight :).
