i figured the pin had something to do with it. like, pulling the pin on a grenade. pull the pin and you get tension.

i'd say it sounds like misaligned/faulty TPS, given that it only happens when you go WOT.

it's a greddy belt for a 1J, i double checked the part numbers. what is the little pin part coming out of the top for? i played with that and nothing happened.

so i'm putting a new oil pump, timing belt, and timing belt tensioner on my 1J. i got as far as putting everything together and on. except the timing belt still has way too much slack. how do i correctly tension the timing belt on a 1J?

I was lucky enough to receive an engine whose plastic and rubber parts have gone VERY brittle and weak, and in the process of removing my water pump, I broke my coolant temp sensor. Does anyone know the part number for it, or any interchangeable ones from other cars or engines?
