Just to let everyone know, we've arrived at the location of the competition and checked in. We're at the hotel now putting some finishing touches on the car and applying all the sponsor logos that theyve asked us to put on it, as well as our number. I will take and post pictures as soon as I...
yeah man, after the first spraying some of the rear and right side and noticing my red nostrils haha i put the respirator on and really i should have had pants and a long sleeve shirt on. My legs and arms were red the rest of the day haha.
thanks everyone!
thanks man! be sure to watch for updates when we get back.
But yeah, i think the oil on the pistons is most likely from oil that could have seeped through the oil passages from the headgasket. Have you inspected the gasket yet? Most likely is will be disintegrated towards the rear of the motor...
well here is some more update stuff.....we leave tomorrow night for the competition so i know we are cutting it close but it is coming together nicely.
Today we got stuck trouble shooting why the car wouldn't start and why it would running poorly finally when it did start. Turned out to be...
make sure your ecu is grounded. we just had this problem in a very similar situation. rebuild and all. the ground bolted to the intake manifold was bad, at least the terminal was. Regrounded the ecu inside the car and it fired right up. peace.
well the oil on the pistons could've been from when you lifted the head off and maybe some oil spilled from the head or from the headgasket as there are oil passages as well. Also, did the car burn any oil before it was parked or smoke at all?
Leaky valve cover gaskets will lead to oil build...
routing the lower intercooler piping was a pain and we're not to happy with the fact that it has to run along the bottom of the car. If we had a FFIM then it would have been easier to route and looked a lot cleaner. The kit we used was universal and the amount of cutting was pretty minimal. We...

thanks man! yeah, i bought a paint gun a few days ago and we have a compressor to use. A big thing in the honda community is cheap paint jobs so, I was following this roller paint job thread on a honda website where you use rustoleum 1 quart can thinned with mineral spirits and then either roll...
ok so we made a little progress today....its tough when you can only work for a few hours before it gets dark. Anyway, the main hoop is tacked and bottom plates have been made but avi is not happy with the welds since the undercoating has contaminated them a bit. Engine has the harness all...
sweet thanks man!
avi was working on another cage over the weekend so we missed out :nono: but today there will be some progress. The past couple of nights we have been replacing seals and cleaning up the engine to get it looking good again. Today, we are going to finish up the engine...
thanks! no, unfortunately i dont think we'll have enough to go with bigger sways. I was thinking about making some endlinks but dont know how much benefit we would get from having adjustable endlinks. also, i pm'ed you with a suspension question.
dont worry, the essence of the supra is still there. We love this car just as much as the next guy and the car will retain the factory look minus the wheels and interior mods. Don't know anything about the meet. When is it?
Thanks! yeah, dont know how much time we'll have to get the suspension tweaked but we do plan to do some events after the challenge with the car to really stretch its legs. Have any advice on alignment settings? As of now we have about 1.5* of negative camber up front and about 1.7* in the rear...

it's how we roll. essentially we have a week to finish a lot of shit. combined with our mixed schedules, it's going to be tough. But it will be done, no doubt about it.
