Sheilding gas, usually CO2, that runs through the nozzel when you pull the trigger.
Innersheild flux core,(gasless) runs like shit. For auto body work, you need .023 solid steel wire which requires a sheilding gas, I use CO2. Check out some of Lincoln's small welders. They range from...
No compression test yet. Do you think a comp test could come out bad with the good leak-down #'s?
I haven't put the pcv to stock yet because I cut the the nipples off the pipe that go into the valve covers and welded the holes shut.
Yeah, it's definatly a good idea to run bigger grounds. It'll probebly be a few days before I work on the car again, I did a leakdown test on it tonight, but I have a guy's 240 I'm working on also, and it's a paying job I need to finish.
So stay tuned, and thanks for the input!

Well the results are in. I did a leak-down test tonight and my engine passed with flying colors!
My Total Seal's must have seated because I have hardly any leakage. The guage on the Snap On leak-down tester read into the -'s and there was barly any audible leakage into the crank case and...
Just picked them up 10 minutes ago. I actually just re-upped my battery ground with 4 guage, but not the engine to chassis. I'll give it a shot viper, thanks!
Alright, so I did the rewire on my knock sensors with 20awg 50ohm coax, and it helped a little bit. So, I decided to replace the sensors. While I was replacing them, I checked my rewire and it checked out fine, no shorts between the shielding and core, and good continuity.
So I get it all...
I'll check all that stuff.
Thanks for the advice jdub, I truely appreciate it! When I get the plenum back on, I'll do the compression and leak down tests and post the results.
I have the valve covers bypassed and the pipe runs from the intake to the throttle body, no oil in the breathers on valve covers, no smoke out the exhaust, but you can smell the oil.
I'll do a compression check when I get it back together. I did do a leakdown after the first 300 miles and it was 3% across the board, but things could have deteriorated since then.
The pistons are JE. Piston to wall clearance was .004 when I assembled the engine.
Ok, so tonight I pulled my upper plenum to replace my knock sensors, and what I discovered was small amounts of oil pooled in a couple runners of the lower intake manifold.
So, I came home from my shop and hit the search button, and came up with leaky turbo, or bad piston rings. As much as...
My car also did this the first night I had it. The alarm went off twice in the middle of the night, but each time I ran outside and no one was around.
I didn't lock the car for 3 weeks, and it, or nothing else was stolen. I don't think anyone was messing with it.
