MKIII 2j swap can't get a/c to work. Need Help!!!

Are you using the 2JZ Aircon Compressor? (but with the head off your 7M one) The 2JZ Compressor has 4 wires coming off it . . . but you can remove all of those - just find the single wire that comes out of the actual compressor itself. You then attach that to the single wire that comes...

Need Suggestions for Fully Customizable JZ Harness Listing

Have you thought about also offering just Plug n' Play adaptors, to save people having to buy a whole new (expensive) harness? When I put a 2JZ-GE in my Mk3 Supra, I obviously got the new engine WITH its harness and ECU all attached. Having spent dozens of hours comparing the circuit diagrams...

    W58 year differences

I'm pretty certain the pre- and post-Facelift W58s used in the Mk3 are the same. I guess you never imported many MANUAL Mk3s in the USA . . . here in England there are LOADS of s/h W58s available from scrap cars, pretty cheap. I've just bought a replacement for £100 - only because my existing...

car dies when i let off the throttle

The AFMs on the 7M-GE tend to be very reliable (unlike on the 7M-GTE) . . . I bet you just have a dirty connector somewhere - on the AFM, TPS, Distributor, etc As just posted on another thread, on ALL engines people should unplug all the connectors every 3-4 years, give both sides a...

Acceleration loss at random while driving

The diagnostics on the Mk3 Supra are pretty good . . . If it is SUDDENLY losing all power just for a moment, then coming back on again, that can't be down to running lean or rich, that would just affect performance generally. Similarly, you can rule out the O2 Sensor, as that just fine tunes...

    Best performance clutch 7mge

Yes, the 7M-GTE uses a PULL clutch setup, guess your vehicle has the conventional PUSH type, as used on the 7M-GE. I just use a stock clutch, so can't recommend a particular uprated one . . . But the MK4 Supras with the N/A engine (2JZ-GE) use exactly the same clutch as the 7M-GE (I know...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

But lots of people say that R134a doesn't work well in R12 systems . . . apart from the mineral oil issue, it's at too low a pressure . . . plus you need all the connectors and O-rings changing, many say you need new hoses too. Just spoke an aircon guy here in England and he says RS24 is a good...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Maybe I've just found the answer - see this article: http://www.kwecars.com/technical/air-conditioning-the-r134a-conversion-myth/ So is RS24 the way to go in our Supras?

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

No, as I said I lost all the gas due to an engine change. (the previous re-gas was just because it had never been re-gassed from new) That's what I figure . . . and why I'd rather stick with a gas that doesn't need any conversion work Yes I had also forgotten about the Oil issue . . . So...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Having seen the guy with all the correct gear just do a pressure test and re-gas last time, doing a Conversion is not really something I'd be happy doing myself . . . and quite expensive to have done by a garage. That's why I'd rather try and find out if there's a gas which is properly...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Yes but it's the cost of the conversion I'm trying to avoid ! That's why I'd rather find something that is compatible with an R12 system.

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Yes that thread was an interesting read Rollus . . and reminded me of the issues regarding R134a I had my Supra's Aircon re-gassed about 10 years ago . . . Lots of garages SAID they could re-gas with R134a . . . others said the system would need converting, due to the higher pressures R134a...

head coming off soon, thinking about cams

If (like me) you don't like turbochargers, but want a little more power, personally I would just fit a 2JZ-GE (like I did last year) For a start, it's a MUCH more reliable engine (Unlike the 7M, Head Gasket and Big End failures are extremely rare) Because they never go wrong, 2JZ-GE's are...

Wiring the 2jz into the ma70 chassis

I keep meaning to do a full write up of my 2JZ conversion (like a proper idiot's guide), as I found various other notes on various websites incomplete ! Including various other information that I couldn't find anywhere, like the Fan, Clutch Fork and Slave Cylinder, etc etc. I went back to the...

2Jzgte aristo 3 wire o2 sensor plug help

The wiring to the O2 sensor heater are simple . . . one side goes to chassis, the other goes to the +12V feed from the EFI relay So regardless of what plug you use to connect it, just identify which wire from the engine loom has +12V, which is connected to chassis - connect those to the...

    help engine wont crank

There is no CPS on a 7M-GE engine ! But check the distributor is in the right place. There are a number of things that can prevent it starting, just one bad connection after you've had the engine out will prevent it, so clean and re-plug all the connectors on things like TPS, AFM, etc...

    W58 clutch fork help!

I replaced my 7M-GE with a 2JZ-GE from a Mk4 Supra . . retained the W58, just used the bell housing from a Mk4 (as it also uses a W58) to mate the engine to my gearbox. However, one of the things I discovered before going ahead (did the whole swap in 2 days!) was that the clutch forks are...

HELP! 2JZ-GE Strange Big Peak in Power

The Mk4 N/A Supras don't have a MAF Sensor (not the ones from Japan anyway), just a MAP Sensor, which I am obviously using. And it's not a VVTI engine, by the way. I have now sussed out the problem - I was getting too much of a voltage drop on the main power cable to the Fuel Pump ECU (due to...

HELP! 2JZ-GE Strange Big Peak in Power

I recently fitted a 2JZ-GE in my Mk3 Supra (manual with a W58 gearbox) The way I installed it is pretty much as in a Mk4, using the correct ECU, igniter, MAP Sensor and Fuel Pump ECU, all from a Mk4 Supra. But both cats are removed, and using a stock Mk3 2.5" exhaust. Generally I've been...

    Speedometer Adjustment Calibration: How To

I am slightly confused by this, having played about trying to re-calibrate my Speedometer after changing to a lower ratio Differential. I notice there is a similar adjustment lever to the one that adjusts the sensitivity - although you don't refer to it. This one adjusts where the needle sits...
