Well its been a VERY LONG time since there has been any sort of update here. So, here it is.
In the winter of 2010/2011 I pulled the engine again because I wanted to clean some things up and repair what was needed. First thing was dealing with the twins. Unfortunately, going single was not...
My god he was on the anti-lag for what seemed like forever. I dont think I have seen a supra get going that fast out of the hole, as far as I can tell from the video anyways. I wonder what he ran......
Not to rain on your parade or sound like a "know-it-all". I think the wastegate could be placed a little better on the manifold. Wouldnt you get better control of the exhaust gases and where they travel if the flange was closer to the turbo and more to the middle of the manifold?
This is just a...
The things that makes me so certain is the puff of smoke at cold start up. I should have included it in the video, but it was an after thought. There is also no smoke at idle.
I already ruled the PCV system out of the equation by completely disconnecting it and venting it to air. This did not...
Here is a video I made of how it smokes.
I am certian now that it is valve stem seals that is causing the smoke.

If that tach is reading properly that means hes reving it to 8000RPM.
is that even possible with that motor?
(EDIT)
I went and did a little research and saw that this is a short stroke motor, which leads me to believe that they can be a high revving motor.
Also take into consideration that the stock flywheel, because of its size and material it will dissipate heat alot better then a light weight flywheel.
The nice thing about a light weight flywheel is the motor will rev up and down faster then with the stocker.
Like previously stated you have to...
Good call, I will check tonight. I replaced the plugs when I first got the motor running again.
The only thing about the downpipe is that the turbos smoked before hand and I did not clean out the inside of the downpipe.
REPORT:
No oil was to be found anywhere in the IC piping. The shaft play on the turbos was what I would consider to be normal. It is less then when I first got them back from the rebuild and at that time they had not been primed with oil.
I also removed the hose that connects the intake to...
The turbos have no more then 600km, I highly doubt that they are causing an issue. BlaastPerformance is a reputable turbo rebuild shop.
If I were to find oil in the IC pipes do you figure this would be blow by through the PCV system? Turbo seals?
Hey guys.
So I have had my car running for about 3 weeks now and it started to burn oil. I cant figure out what my problem is. The motor has been running perfect, not a single hiccup other then the oil being burnt. The smoke happens 2 different ways.
1: Free rev the motor and then on the way...
Slight change in subject, but still relevant. Does anyone run solid bushings? like the ones made by beech performance?
I have obtained a set and was thinking about installing them, but to be honest I am afraid they will be to harsh and allow for to much road noise to be echo'ed through the car.
