if your still on the Stock harness.. check the coilpack harness make sure its not super old and brittle.. and also if your CPS connector has bare wires and looks like crap too.. you could just have old brittle Wiring harness problems.. sounds like it to me.. if not... bust out a multimeter...
or some spray white lithuium grease on stuff you don't want to rust.. or silicone... or boat oil vapor stuff, and if you do take the head off the block... I wouldn't put anything on the block or head surface.. just make sure their spotless when you mate them and the New HG back together

autozone and or parts stores also sell crappy alternators and starters.. lots of people have starter solenoid and starting problems due to crappy refurbished starters..

try buying a .5 micron filter and putting it on the oil feed.. it will Help make your oil pressure more consistant flowing into the turbo and clean.. also make sure your drain line as Straight down as possible and a 45 to the block.. you don't want Any goofy angles.. purly gravity fed.
