Does anyone in the seattle area do engine swap's for people? i'm looking to do a 1j swap in my supra in the near future and was wondering if anyone could or would know someone that does swaps for people. I don't want to take it to a race shop cause i think they'd probably do it wrong and over...
Hey. My friend walt refered me to you and was told that you do swaps. I'm looking to do a 1j swap and was wondering how much you'd charge to do the swap.
Don't really worry about name brand the torque wrenches at autozone and what not are just as good. You want to make sure you have two torque wrenches (click prefered). One for high torque numbers (150 ft lbs should be enough) and a smaller range one for the small jobs like torquing to 15 ft lbs...
If you don't have an impact gun i'd just open up the cover in between the motor and tranny wedge a flat head into the teeth of the flywheel on the top right and use a torque wrench and breaker bar to remove the bolt.
So what you're saying that if the cam lobe point is facing upwards so i can see it and the crank is at 0 degrees it'll be at tdc on the compression stroke? Or i put the cps in when the lobe is up?

Well i've done that. If you turn it once 360degrees around it'll be at tdc and when you do another 360 it becomes the opposite with the marks at 180. But i don't know what side is the compression stroke. Thats what i'm having trouble with. I've tried both sides and it doesn't start.
How to you find the compression stroke? I've tried to start my car with both sides and still no start. So i figured it was my cps. also does anyone know how to adjust the cps? I consulted the tsrm and it didn't help. I lined up the drill hole to the notch. I'Ve also tried adjusting it up and...
i bet a few's just loose. you'd have to adjust your valves. threres a valve adjusting tool with a whole bunch of thickness' that you'd have to use. its pretty simple and easy.
So i'm throwing a code 22 which is a water temp sensor signal. Not sure how to diagnos. Anyone with pictures or a very descriptive way to help figure it out?
Thanks in advance
just use a 4 head or flat head and put it in the bore and wiggle it out. it comes right out after 2 good wiggles. i had to remove it to fix my threads with a heli-coil kit. =|
ok i was changing my fuel pump when the metal outlet line broke on me. is there a way i can fix this? can i just cut off the line and add a rubber fuel injected line to cover the broken part .
Well i'd it a hks? metal head gasket than just go to toyota and ask for the gasket kit. Last time i checked the kit was about 350 and came with most if not all of the gaskets
