check for spark and power at coils, check for fuel or try to start off carb clean, check injectors are firing with a noide light.

I've heard of people putting the breaker bar on the car and using the starter to break it loose. Just disconnect the coils and injectors if you try that and have the bar on the ground already

Yes because you need to remove the timing cover and you should just change the belt if you have it that tore down. Just goto autozone or something like that and you can rent one and get you deposit back after you return it.
