i have a rear sump of an sc300 for my 2jz swap and was wondering if i should take it to a machine shop to drill and tap the oil return holes or do it myself. since it is aluminum i dont know if it will react different as compared to metal when doing it. i just dont want the worst case scenario...
looked up some info on using a 2jzge rear sump oil pan on a aristo 2jzgte with a front sump and found that it will work but all you would have to do is drill and tap the turbo drain hole in the ge oil pan. my question is, is that really it because im looking into getting one from a sc300 with...
try this link. its from one of my threads about wiring a obd port into a 2jz swap and this guy posted to check out a lexus forum about wiring a diagnostic port that's capable of communicating with your laptop after downloading a free software. I myself have downloaded the software and it works...
i beleive it was from 1996 and up that cars switch to obd-2 systems, and the mk3 went up to 1992 so it had the obd1 set up which is the "paperclip" set up. and yes obd2 stays with the car but i was just wondering if anyone has succesfully wiried in the 2j harness to the mk3 obd port to read fuel...
ive read some bad reviews on jdm engines corp but if you guys say so ill check into then. nice to hear that sln jdm auto motors are good ppl too as that was my first choice for getting a 2jz. thanks for the tips guys, good info
thats what i plan on doing, since im in austin i wanted to check out the places in dallas but was wondering if anyone had any info from the businesses ive provided.
anyone have any information on which is a good place in texas to get a jdm 2jzgte. ive found some places in dallas that ive been looking into such as "texas jdm engines" , "ALN JDM Auto Motors" , "JDM Engine corp" ,and "dallas jdm" motors." all of these are in dallas tx and my first choice ALN...
I get that every shim is different to close the gap between the vavle stem and cam lobe since we dont live in a perfect world. so the clearance specs are the same for usdm and jdm. im just makeing sure they aren't different, so when i do go measure and fit shimless im not outta spec.
yeah i know. measure clearance first then remove measure bucket then calculate for new bucket install and remeasure. gues what im saying is are the clearances the same for a jdm 2jz and which part numbers are they? cause ive read ppl use mr2 spyder shims (year unknown), 1zz or whatever engine...
any one have a link or something? tried the search bar with the "title search" option to look for shimless buckets but only found one but was for 7mgte. i know 2jz's can do this also but trying to get more info like, if a 2jz aristo has the same bucket to cam clearance as a usdm 2jz, and part...
quick question. is there a shim plate that goes inbetween the 2jzgte block and r154 transmisson bellhousing, and do the engine's we can buy come with them?
