Have you pulled the plugs to see if you have filled a cylinder with coolant? kind of a longshot, but worth checking. My money is on a crank problem........

I used a 6 volt in my 1950 chevy for a very short time, then had starter(prior to motor swap) rebuilt for 12volt and swapped in an altenator. You might call around to firms that restore vehicles and see how they source their 6volt batteries
no pics, I'm too impatient when I have a new part in my hands, it doesn't sit around long enough to get its picture taken. Its buried in the engine compartment , kind of hard to photograph. I'll give it a try this weekend if time permits.

After coating with the Turbo X the piece needs baked to cure, you can give it a few hours, then carefully install the piece( to avoid removing coating) and crank the car, the exhaust heat will cure the coating. I found this fairly easy to do with the car on jack stands.

My mkii had one as a dealer installed option in 1984, the first owner didn't like it but it grew on her. It looks better than that........but I do agree its very "80's"
