What happens when u drive @ cruising speeds on the hwy & your wheel falls off?

I second that motion, I took a wild ride in a 78 camaro once when the spindle broke at 85mph, luckily the caliper held the wheel and rotor on UNTIL we got stopped. All we could figure was the welded appearance of the outer wheel bearing had something to do with it...made me a believer in regular...

The reason my Supra is feeling neglected....

Parts are cheap except heads, we are limited to the old double humps, you'll pay 300-600 a pair, and then another 400-800 for head work(and still have a 40+ year old head with 40+ year old flow rate capibility) Did I mention she only weighs 2950 with driver, before weight added to bring me to...

The reason my Supra is feeling neglected....

I have a motor build for the supra in mind, just happen to have some Probe pistons coming......the crazy thing is I have twice the money in my race car that I have in the supra. (crazier still is we run for 300.00 to win every week)

The reason my Supra is feeling neglected....

I run in high gear,(full manual valve body), turn 6300-6700rpm on a 27x10-15 tire with 83-85 inch rollout. When they put radar on us on the track(3/8 mile) we usually run around 70mph on the straights. I think last time I worked out the math 6500rpm on a 85 inch tire would be over 100mph, but...

How long have you been modifying cars for?

Since 1977, when I dropped a 11:1 355 cid SBC( a whole summers earnings flipping burgers at McDonalds paid for the motor) into my 1950 chevy truck along with a few other "minor" modifications. Its under the carport now beside my "new" dirt track monte carlo, and the supra. *** I never mail...

That is so true, but watching the people is half the fun. If there had been a concession trailer to get hot coffee the day would have been great.

It is reportedly a TT(unmodified) approx. 140,000 miles, one of the foreclosing bank's board members said it was listed as turbo on the banks paperwork, but I couldn't get the VIN.( he said the owner was selling good drugs at the time of its purchase, and bought it w/all availible options for his...

where'd you learn how to work on cars?

When I was 13 I had to change a fuel filter for my dad who was having a problem with it. Then in 1977(when I was 15) I got my first truck, 1950 chevrolet 3100 with a 235 straight six, then came the first V8 swap(370hp 350 with muncie M22) when I was 17. From there I just had to do more and...
