It's a soarer motor, wire for the gauge is green/yellow. The two sensors are right next to each other on the exhause side of the head. If you having trouble locating the sensors I can post some pics tonight.
I'm trying to put he harness back on my 7MGE and need a little help determining which injector connectors go where. I looked at my Haynes manual and it looks like it says:
Cyl1 : White/light blue Yellow
Cyl2: White/light blue Yellow
Cyl3: white/red blue
Cyl4: white/red blue
Cyl5: white...
You talking about the one that goes to the from the alternator to the fuse? Checked that one and it's fine. I'm thinking it has to be the wire feeding to the gauge, anyone know which wire it is?
Just tried one from a 7M, worked fine by the way. Temp gauge still didn't work though. Does anyone know how the sensor sends it's signal? It is supposed to send voltage or current when it is warmed up?
Well After my 1J swap my coolant temp gauge wont work. I double checked my wiring and it looks fine. When I put a multimeter between the terminal of the sensor and ground (battery terminal) I don't get a voltage or current reading at all, even when the motor is hot. Does this mean the sensor...
Even when I am reading 14.5 volts across the battery with a multimeter the gauge only shows 12v. I assume this is a problem with the wiring to the gauge? Anyone know which wire coming into the cluster feeds to the gauge?
Update: Just drove it and the headlights and lights seem to dim when the electric fans are on, when I turn them off the lights get brighter and engine rpm's increase slightly. I guess this seals the case that it's the alternator.
Is it normal for the alternator to ot have enough juice for...
When I first start my car the voltage reading across the batters is about 14.5 volts. After driving for 5 minutes or so it will drop to around 13.1 volts. Is this normal or is my alternator going out? The battery light is on all of the time when I am driving. Thanks in advance
If it's the sensor I am thinking of then the electrical connector is broken off, anyone know if one from a MKII will work? Is the oil pressure sensor the one on the exhaust sude near the front of the block?
Mechanical really is very broad
Im a ME working in the Natural Gas Industry.
Another buddy designs locks
Another one designs satellites
As far as pay goes I think Aerospace and Electrical have the highest salaries, not that any of the others are low.
Id like to know which wire is ig- as well before I start cutting wires, the connector on the left has a black wire black, that the one I splice off of?
