uh no, it was completely serious. I knew another Supra owner.......
Actually yes it was a pathetic attempt at humor, sorry. It was late in the day and I was terribly bored at work; when the Sienfeld episode came to mind about the girlfriend that got Gonorea from the tractor episode...
BHG - - - there's nothing wrong with your car man, this is a completely normal condition... :sarcasm:
All kidding aside, I have a limited knowledge base about these guys, but from some searching I did on some local sites, Accelerated Performance is the ONLY place in Northern OH you want...
those are good times, better yet is to see your progression; you've come a long way in shaving your times down.
had me a bit concerned there when I read the first posts, making that much power and logging times up in 14s range... was worried maybe I should have kept my subie
Not to...
Well I hope we can keep ROTM going, I plan to take a shot at it for September... Wouldn't care if there was no 'prize' or sponsor; just looking to be able to claim 'er as a former ROTM winner ;)
Thanks - Yeah actually that was me trying to sell it on Craigslist. I had bought it, and then decided it was too much work and that I should get rid of it and save for a more 'completed' vehicle.
Then I realized how STUPID i was to try and sell it and let something in such good shape go...
off topic, but what is the weight of a manual transmission supra? i've seen curb weight in print at 3390lbs, but I was thinking that is wrong or too light for some reason, maybe that's the NA car only or something?
I just use e-brake, and both if parking on a slant; I never thought about it...
WHOA! Hope she's not too internet savvy; or 'checking account' savvy either for that matter.
I don't get it, how can you put $10M into a car and your spouse not notice? First she'd see all this stuff on the car, or all the parts showing up at the door, and then does she pay not attention...
Can you elaborate, i'm not sure i follow completely... What does LE stand for?
And by "signature" do you mean pick up the exact numerical frequency; i guess i don't follow what you're saying the V1 is offering that helps assure you with more certainty that it is police radar actually seeking...
Previous post in here also describes the X50 to do the same as above - how many of each band will the V1 report at one time?
To reiterate- The X50 will report 4 X band, 2 K band and 2 Ka band all at the same time, as well as INCLUDE detailed SIGNAL strength meters on each of those 8 possible...
yes but is it really worth another $100 extra? How important is it really to know 'where' the signal comes from... I say its overkill.
Then again I don't mind no power steering and no a/c in my car either; and its heat situation is as though the heat is always on FULL blast no matter the...
Interesting read, the studies I read back in the day before my purchase were also 'independently' conducted.
I would possibly offer the most weight to a "PERSONAL" test where you have both detectors in the car at once... There's a way to measure it, eh? Of course the tough part there is...
Agree completely, Laser is not high on my list of fear.... Its instant-on followed by POP as the most dangerous for getting caught. Long as there is other traffic in front of you that entices the officer to shoot, then you are well protected from even the Instant-on if you have a quality...
I would also note that i try to follow the for sale forum on here and Supraforums.com closely/daily, as well as Ebay MKIII's for sale closely........
You want to get $3000 for the car, but a VERY VERY clean and nice looking red MKIII with what appeared to be an equally clean 2JZ twin turbo...
From the sound of it I don't think I'd pay $3000 for it. But you seem to focus on what's wrong with the car from above, so you might 'skew' people's opinion to the lower side by doing that. Usually from what I see people make the for sale thread and talk about whats good on the car, and then...
$8500 for the car; free and clear
$3800 on 'pretty' parts and whatnot on the credit card since I bought the car, expect to have that paid in next two months...... hmmm.
While the Supra is #1 or #2 on my list, unfortunately its not that high up on the wife's list. Still though, she...
This is the radar detector that is invisible to radar detector detectors, including the formidable Spectre III detector detector, corrector? :biglaugh:
My take on the topic...
Passport Escort 8500 X50, SWEAR by it. The Valentine1 is excellent as well; however as of 2yrs prior testing studies, the 8500 got the nod due to picking up POP Radar and Instant On Radar methods from approx 1/2 mile further away than the Valentine1 AS WELL as picking...
