    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Lol, dont either of you two own a measuring tape? I just measured mine, rear end is about 1600mm (without bothering to pull the car cover off)....which works out at exactly 63" :p

    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Love this thread, some awesome work in this car :) When you say the woodward shaft is better for safety, how do you mean? Is this because its aluminium and would cumple better in a big crash?

Ahhh, what? Down here its the women that like firm things. What ever rocks your boat though.....

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Was gonna test them this weekend but just thinking about things at the moment, the car is pretty well stripped at the moment so I wont be able to get it to sit low enough to test them. Plus its missing front panels and I dont have front tyres yet so I might just have to be patient and...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Yeah I love the GT-Cs too. Best wheel for a JZA80 IMO, but I prefer the GT-7s for an A70. Ive wanted these wheels for years, nearly bought some new a while back but Volk no longer produced them. Came across this set by absolute fluke!

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Got ma wheels!! Oh yeah!!!! :D Pic including obligitory nokia phone for scale. Has more dish than I realised, Im fucking stoked! Heres the tyres I picked up for the rear, they were cheap and will be fine to get things moving. Will replace with some RSRs when they wear out.

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Hahaha, just stirring IJ ;) These boxs have a notoriously shit shifter which seems to be a major factor in some people liking them or not, very tricky to shift 2nd - 3rd nicely, apparently a rip-shifter fixes that though. Ive driven some T56 equiped HSVs before and didnt really have a problem...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

You broke a TKO? Umm....ok. Sorry IJ, but Im gonna have to put that down to driving style. Justen with the twin turbo 1UZ GT4 celica runs a TKO in his car, from memory it runs 1:02 around wakefield, potentially flat 1min laps....he hasnt broken a TKO, and his car gets driven hard, on slicks. I...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Are you sure your mates dont mean their clutches? I dont know specifically about camaros but GM seems to put some pretty weak clutches in their cars these days. Not too sure what the differences are to the Aston Martin/etc models but I know there are a couple of variations in input/output shaft...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Theyre a tremec box, used in many many cars, not just GM. I dont know where you heard they werent reliable, theyre actually rated higher than a V160 and much much cheaper (I picked mine up for $1,000) The main reason I chose it is for the ratios, Toyota boxes have shit ratios. The T56 has...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Haha, yeah wiring is going to be a big job. Ive just helped a mate wire up his datsun 1600 rally car using the same kit, its not all that hard, just tedious. Most annoying bit is figuring out a nice way of mounting the weird shaped fuse box. ---------- Post added at 01:15 PM ---------- Previous...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Nah that Wolfie bloke moved to the US. I moved from Brisbane to Canberra a while back. I visited the US earlier this year but have no plans of ever moving there (although the price and availability of their parts almost has me considering it some days!!) Just read some of your stuff...

    Ed's supra build (MA70/2JZ/T56/T04r)

Been a bit of a lurker on here for a while but lately Ive been reading more and more build threads on here and Im quite impressed! Figured I'd start my own thread as things are starting to get serious and I have a few questions for the greater A70 community. :) Brief history: This is my 2nd...

My black widebody MKIII with 2JZ-GTE and V-160

    Whoa man, this is awesome!

    transmission options

No it doesnt. It operates more like a W58 than an R154. There isnt even a hole in the bellhousing to accommodate a clutch fork. Like I said, it works with a concentric slave cylinder, there is a gap at the back of the bellhousing to allow the hydraulic lines through.

Reverse pull? Is that the same as push? Its a push type clutch system, hence the factory concentric slave cylinder.

    transmission options

I got a premade adapter plate that uses a stock A340e bellhousing to connect a T56 to a 2JZ, it cost me $240. Ive also bought a gearbox and concentric slave which should be here in about a week. Once Ive got everything in hand I'll be able to make some proper measurements for...

    eFFeT's Swedish Powered Supra MKIII

Awesome project! :D Considering the A70 is such a heavy car, making an inlet manifold out of CF is an interesting choice, but damn its awesome! PS. I think your heat problems are coming from the FMIC being so close to the radiator. A friend of mine had a very similar setup (but around the...
