    Cryptic clunk

My 88 MKIII has developed a clunk that I cannot find and I'm trolling for suggestions. The problem: Very low-pitched clunkety-clunk which is timed w/ the suspension movement (not the body), ie it's most noticeable on rough road at 20 to 30 mph. It sounds like a loose swaybar or strut...

Full Gasket Set 7mgte - suggestions

I have a full overhaul set w/ all the seals and gaskets for upper and lower. I bought the headset for a BHG, then found the block was etched and had to pull it for machining - so I bought the lower kit. Then found that the machinist had purchased the whole overhaul kit for me.... The set(s)...

Anybody know a where I can get a center support bearing?

I actually did read that write-up and holding the AZ bearing in hand I was sorely tempted to cut it up & modify it to work...looked at the bearing, looked at the sawzall & MIG.... Finally decided that since the original lasted 21 years that $50 difference & the time to modify/weld/paint the part...

Anybody know a where I can get a center support bearing?

Autozone part # a2006...the bearing they're selling requires extensive modification ie, cutting and welding to make it work. The exact correct part IS available from Powertrain for $113 + $8 +/- in shipping. The word was that AZ had fixed their error on this part, but I just returned one that...

Hi All, Thought I'd post up a few pics of my project car. I bought it new in 1988 and have driven it ever since; tho' tried to keep it outta snow/slush/salt back in IN. Drove it out to CA in 1989 where it's been languishing in the Norcal sun. In 90 I went for the HKS PFC FCON, FCD, EBC &...

    Hit and run

There are a bunch of supramaniacs in the SF bay area, so there's lots of advice and parts sources hereabouts. This site has everything you want to know on it somewhere...use the 'search', and read, read, read.... You will end up knowing your supra literally inside-out. GL & keep at it. David

    Hitting boost cut I think

WOW Once again SM guys solved my problem... I hit fuel-cut this morning and couldn't figure out why. I'm running an HKS PFC/FCON & FCD w/ stock injectors FPR and AFM. When I did my BHG, I found a leak at the resonator on my HKS 65mm exhaust....replaced it w/ straight-pipe. Boost was only...

    Need help! Bhg issue??

What kind of HG? Metal ones look fine even tho' they're leaking. If the block was decked w/o the front cover it will fail the HG, too. Blown TB gasket could be the culprit - but not many other things put coolant into the cylinders. Look at the piston tops - if they're clean or wet it will tell u...

Overheating issue, searches suggest BHG but I'm not convinced!!!

::bhg:: That temp fluctuation is a sign that there's air in your coolant - due to the BHG leaking exhaust into the coolant passages. NAPA has a test kit for exhaust products in the coolant. If there's oil in the coolant u don't need the kit...... Make the dealer PROVE to you that they...
