Nobody has mentioned mirror-finish on the block and head for a MHG. If it's not mirror finish....it Will leak - garoonnnteeed

    Bhg???

At 15 psi it would be a miracle if it didn't blow the HG. It seems the concensus on here is they go @ 12. Get the chemical test kit for antifreeze in the oil. Loosing coolant? Steam out of exhaust on start-up? They can be subtle - mine leaked just a little & caused a gradual coolant loss that...

    Mystery plugs under dash

It's the yellow plug in the pic/thumbs above. I don't have the supermonitor, so it must be for the clock then. I was hoping someone on here would recognize that harness. Thanks again, guys.. I can overhaul the engine and trans, but can't plug in electrical plugs! SHEESH!!

    Mystery plugs under dash

LOL.........OK, thanx on the yellow plug. It just bugged me 'cause I couldn't account for it & I wanted to make sure I didn't just forget a plug & created my courtesy lite problem. I do know I did _something_ ...now to figure out what it was... (It's always something....)

    Mystery plugs under dash

I'm referring to the underdash LED courtesy lite that s'posed to come on when u open the door...it's at the end of the harness in the pix. That yellow plug seems to have no home & I'm wondering if that's why my footwell lites aren't working. They worked fine before I tore out the dash..... I'll...

Excellent! Thanx a bunch Devin! Anyone know what the smaller yellow plug is for? Wondering if it is the reason my courtesy lights no longer work?

    Mystery plugs under dash

These are pix of the aforementioned wires/plugs. The wiring harness for the lg white plug was anchored on the back side of the crossbar.

    Mystery plugs under dash

LOL. I don't have a supermonitor, so that may be what large white one is for... I do not recall unplugging them (whatever _that_ indicates). I just found them when troubleshooting the courtesy lites. I'll get some pix this evening.

    Mystery plugs under dash

So, I changed my heater core over the w/e - entire dash out and cross-bar - and now the courtesy lites under the dash don't work. (88 M 3 Targa). Investigating I found attached to the driver's side LED wires a 2-prong yellow plug AND an in-line white plug coming off the firewall main harness w/...

White Antifreeze smoke out of vents

When I replaced the heater core in my Typhoon, it came w/ detailed instructions about preventing electrolysis - reverse plating that eats up the copper core. They recommended measuring the voltage between the coolant and the block w/ a digital volt meter. If there is any voltage potential then...

Motor trying to start but shaking and smoking

YUP.........search BHG & you'll be enlightened... MHG requires mirror finish block & head (think Rob's Machine Shop - Hayward) or it's a "do-over" Have him hone the bores for your new rings. Measure every single part: ring gaps, bearings (Rob will get u the right bearings)(plastiguage 'em...

7M-GTE no start - has spark, inj op, fuel pressure, CPS & cam timing is good.. WTH?

compression is the other required element for firing...check it. If your valve-timing is sufficiently _ _ _ _ed to prevent it from running it will definitely show up on a comp test. ALSO...did u follow fuel pressure WHILE CRANKING? As mentioned, a dying pump may give initial pressure w/ no flow...

No, there's no feedback thru the wheel, nor the chassis/seat-of-the-pants. I can hear it but not feel it.

    MROsborne's 1986.5 Turbo Supra Hardtop

Great Jet-pic... As I'm sure you're learning, these cars are complex with a LOT of potential. Just don't ghetto anything and you will have _decades_ of 'adventures' w/ it. I betcha someone on here can tell you where to get a new floor piece for your trunk and a panel for your cancer. TRSM is...

    Old Enough To Drink (legally)

LOL Yup, HKS electronics and suspension (Eibach springs and ?TRD? struts) Still like'em....... That's about the only thing that was available back then unless maybe having something custom-built - IF you could find anyone willing to mess w/ "Jap-cars"...
