Earl's SS brake lines don't fit

Yeah, they hold them in place. What happened was that the Earl SS lines come in 2 pieces vs 3 like stock. So, you have to pull the longer line through the lowest bracket and fit it into the middle bracket in order to hold it in place. Both of those brackets looked like they were shaped to fit...

Earl's SS brake lines don't fit

Hey guys, here's the story. I bought a set of Earl's SS lines from from one of the online Supra parts stores about 8 months ago. Just bought rotors, pads, calipers etc. So, I get off the stock lines finally and I'm installing the new lines on the front drivers side of the car. I start putting...

Wow, thanks for the replies. Correct me if I'm wrong. So, these are the things I need: - speed bleeders - slide shims (should come with the calipers?) - master cylinder - new bolts - tighten up all the bolts for the suspension How do I know if my Supra has ABS? Need to know for the...

Installing new calipers, pads, and rotors

I just bought them at Advanced Auto and their description said "w/o brackets". Is that what you're talking about? Can I buy those brackets separately? I'll be picking up the calipers tomorrow morning; they had to order them.

Installing new calipers, pads, and rotors

Hey guys, I've been building up an 87 Supra back to stock specs for the past couple of years and there's one final thing to do: the brakes. I'm about to install new SS brake lines, rotors, calipers, and brake pads on the front and rear. I was wondering if there's anything that needs to be...

    Rotors to get me by...

thanks guys! I know I need rotors cause I already took them to see if they could be turned, it was a negative. As for the calipers, I just wanna get rebuilt ones for the sake of time and from what I've heard, it's not that much more expensive.

    Rotors to get me by...

I'm in the process of restoring an 87 NA auto targa-top supra. My goal right now is to get it to "factory" condition (running well as a daily driver, nothing fancy). I have 1.5 years left in college and afterwards, I will be making some big changes to the car (turbo, auto to R154 conversion...

    Calipers

Hey guys, It's been a while since I've been on so if this has been brought up before, please let me know where. I'm putting new brakes on my 87 Supra. I have stainless steel brake lines and Brembo OEM rotors. My question is, should I rebuild the calipers I have on there now, or buy...

    rear speakers

I have a pretty good understanding of how sound works and I know that sound is stereo and the back is exactly the same as the front, but the frequency mid stuff is getting a little too technical for me. I also am not gonna spend $500 on any part of the sound system. That's more like all I want...

    no fuel, what the hell

I cranked my engine so many times before I got it to run and I never had a problem. Before my fuel problem, I wasn't getting spark and it was my igniter. There are some ways to check the igniter. They are in the shop manual. I don't remember off the top of my head but if you need that info let...

    no fuel, what the hell

yeah, some more details would be very helpful. what makes you think you're not getting fuel? when I had this problem I started with fuses and relays. they checked out good so I moved on to the fuel pump and that was my problem.

    no fuel, what the hell

just be careful if you have a friend spray starter fluid down the intake or throttle body. my uncle did it for me and it ended up sending a huge fire ball out of the throttle body. it singed every facial hair on him. :biglaugh:

    howling noise

I was thinking the exact same thing. could this be an issue with the starter somehow? I mean, the starter spins to crank the engine and the engine sounds normal when he is cranking it. But once the engine kicks on and the starter stops, that's when the noise starts. plus, how would anything...
