My understanding of caster is, that too much positive caster will make the steering wheel return more quickly when coming out of a corner, but will make the vehicle feel unstable at high speeds. Having the caster too close to zero, the steering wheel will return slowly (causing you to...
Instead of typing "JZA70 and MA70" he wrote x70 to signify that he wants to see more 70 (either JZA70 or MA70) series body style Supras. Is this seriously that hard to figure out?
I need intercooler piping welded and my downpipe modified, but I have a few people who can help me with it.
By the way I already did my harness myself!
I went with the 1JZ, complete 2J swaps are generally more money to get the engine. I have a horsepower goal and a budget, the 1J meets both of those needs. I'm also doing all of the work besides welding, which definitely cuts down on cost.

You'll need to get all of the body circuits, like ignition switch, reverse lights etc. wired in. Its actually pretty easy, either way you'll have to have the harness lengthened for it to fit onto your car. Because that engine from the factory had the ECU on the passenger side for Japan, (our...
I'm not sure on the wiring side of this engine, but if you only get the engine you'll also need to buy a 1JZ bellhousing to mate it up to the R154. Then you'll need a 1JZ flwheel, but the 7M-GTE clutch bolts up to the 1J flywheel. I'd recommend replacing the hoses on it while its out anyway...
Don't know where to source an engine, but your R154 driveshaft will work. You'll need a rear sump pan, and pickup tube. The pans can be picked up new for around $500 or you can source them from 2JZ-GE's out of the early Lexus SC300's (you may be able to pick up an entire used engine for less...
I just got done with my 1JZ-GTE VVT-I harness, this wiring “how to” is based on that both harnesses are manual transmissions and my car is a pre-89 (yellow ECU plugs). My 1JZ harness had all of the body plugs cut off, so I’ll be basing the wire info on the body side by the...
Thanks, I've checked the phase and had no difference in sound. I heard these speakers prior to buying them and they had a lot of bass, but I think it was due to them having a sealed enclosure. I'll give the dampener idea a go and see how it turns out. I'm not looking for a ton of bass from...
^^ You happen to have any wiring diagrams or connector pin outs for the 1J body circuits? I'm in the middle of my 1JZ VVT-i swap and I'm having a hell of a time figuring out where these body circuits go. Thanks in advance.
^^ I would be very interested to see this, I have a pair of 6.5" pioneers, amplified (corrected phase), with speaker pods, and still have poor mid-bass. I've checked all of my connections and settings to no avail.
