IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

I just spent an hour looking thru posts on this site and there are quite a few similar problems and 2 exactly the same. Sad thing is there was no resolution posted :) http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?79524-Another-Can-t-rev-over-XXXX-Rpms/page2&highlight=1jz+limp+mode

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

There are no codes and CEL does not come on. I am waiting for a boost press sensor to hopefully get my boost gauge working (It is clearing customs). Will be interesting to know whether there is boost or not. No AFR.

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

Have not had much time to work on car lately, but I did try some things. Checked I/C connections, which were loose, tightened them all up. Checked fuel pump voltage, was 10 volts, took the connector off and bypassed the relay, now 14 volts. Still goes into limp mode at 4000. I'm beginning...

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

Sorry I guess there is little info: Engine 1JZGTTE from ’90 JZA70 clip Car MA70 ’87 N/A Swapped, engine, ECU, tranny, driveshaft diff. Changed seals (front, rear, cam, valve, valve cover), clutch. I did not check plug gap or timing as I did not change or adjust (checked condition of plugs...

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

If I look at Rock Auto, the pumps are the same. At least if I order one. I will check again and the resistor is something that is controlled by the ECU and just closes the fuel pump relay and routes the signal though a resistor. I will check the voltage and do the mod. No warning light, no...

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

I just tried it in the garage and it seems to spool nicely, even over 4000 RPM....?

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

Took it out for another run, it just does not want to go. Seems at about 4000 RPM it just starts to be stopped or limited by something. Checked ECU codes, the light flashes as though all is normal...... I wonder if the CAT is plugged.... I guess I'll have to take the pipes off again : )...

IJZ MK3 Swap stumbles at 4000 rpm

Took the car out for a 1st run tonight to see what it could do. Was quite peppy and starts, runs fine. Took it out on a highway to see the spool and torque at higher RPM.... The engine will not go over 4000 RPM. Just seems to die out like someone cut the electrical power or fuel. I...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. I'm going to wire up the gauge and boost circuit per the post and get the cluster, turbo timer hooked up and interior back together so I can drive it for a couple of months b4 winter. Hopefully I'll find a MK3 sensor and it will work : ). If not, 2015...

    1JZ Swap Parts Into a MKIII - List -

I ordered and received throttle cable P/N 78180-1B090 97 TT Supra and it does not fit. Is this the wrong cable? Do the Camry ones fit properly?

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

well mainly because I wanted to keep it looking stock, and I kind of like the look of the boost gauge in the dash. I just bought it and the boost circuit on eBay. I hope to find a press sensor..... I did a check and the 2 press switches are different MK3 is 89420-14020 and the JZ is...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

I did a voltage check at the pressure sensor and the Orange and White have + 5 VDC and Brown is grounded. some more trouble shooting : I plugged in the JZ Boost circuit and wired it to the MA70 gauge. Nothing. I reversed the connections on the gauge, nothing. I have to assume at this...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

I took the JZA70 Boost circuit and gauge and plugged it into the cluster connector. Gave power and ground to the gauge. It works! Don’t see any boost, but gauge springs to 0 when key is turned on and goes to -2 when engine started. I then looked at the one installed in the cluster and...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

Yes maybe the sensor is different.... however, I checked the boost circuit PC boards (JZA70 and 7MGTE) and the components (did not validate the part number of the transistor and IC) and connections seem to be the same with the exception of the wire colors that connect to the cluster.

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

After some more searching I found this thread which was extremely helpful and I made the adjustments per the post (http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?131279-Turbo-boost-gauge-on-na-cluster-how-to-make-it-work.&highlight=cluster+wiring) actually I cut both connections on the cluster...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

Hi, I installed a stock boost gauge and the drive circuit assembly into a N/A cluster. I also installed the 1JZ Turbo Pressure Sensor and wiring from the engine bay to the boost gauge. I hooked the 3 wires from the drive circuit black = ground, white to top connection on boost gauge and...

Does anyone have a pic of the stock boost gauge cluster wiring

I installed a stock boost gauge and a pressure switch and wired it per the TEWD (although not clear). I used a JZA70 cluster to figure out the connections for the drive circuit. I had to cut the printed circuit board so that I could make the connections (the cluster is from a N/A). I read...
