rod knock. pretty common for any 7m. this was brought on by a blocked pcv, which in turn blew out the pan gasket and any oil in the pan.
for the five or so hours i drove with that engine, it was fun as shit. I love high compression turbo motors.
well the only thing i think you missed was the turbo oil feed and drain. also i believe you got some stuff on there you dont need, like the fuel pump relay. I dont think that changed between the two (turbo/na). also the power steering res, but i think thats more of a preference. I got lazy and...
also you will need the ect (computer) and appropriate harness. I believe the harness for the ect is part of the dash harness. which in turn will probably make this swap a pain in the ass.
you need alot of harnessing...why dont you just stay manual?

are all out put shafts the same on supra/ cressida auto trannys? usdm and jdm the same as well?

so your saying, that all the gears on the out put shaft are the same and that the speedo gears themselves change? i know i need a 4.3 gear as that whats in the diff. i just want to know if it will work with a jdm tranny out put shaft

I have a jdm a340e out off a cressida. with a supra extension housing. 4.3 lsd
my question is, did they change the gear on the out put shaft or did they change the driven gear? and can i put any gear into the tranny (regardless if it reads right or not)?
