alright so I am reporting back from working on the car all day today. Here are my findings:
I need a TPS that i already ordered and will be receiving by Monday hopefully, I am gonna need help calibrating it, nothing that a good search cant help me with.
The dead cylinder was a cracked spark...
what kind of frequency am i looking for in the knock sensor specifically?
I wont have access to work on my car until Saturday so i will go ahead and do a compression test and a leak down. I will also go ahead and swap injectors to see if that is would be the problem. Thanks for the help Nick...
I checked the knock sensors by putting an ohm meter on the sensors and tapping the block to see if they gave out any readings.... i read this per the tsrm but i can't find the page where it is at. currently looking for it.
Now in respect to having a dead cylinder. what would be the ways to fix...
what would cause the motor to do what is doing???? My mechanic told me it could be a dead piston.... what are the chances of that occurring on a fresh motor?
I got my car running last week and have come into some electrical problems. I am currently getting three codes. My first code is code 41 which is the TPS wiring, the second code is code 51 which i believe deals with the TPS or A/C system, and code 52 which is knock sensors or the wiring.
I need...
Thank you IJ i really appreciate the help. right now as it sits the full rotating assembly is reinstalled and it does turn smoothly. I can actually turn it with a ratchet with one finger. My only concern is that since the new bearings look like they have gotten damaged should i just go ahead and...
correct, i put lube on the surface that mates with the crank. I need to put lube on the surface that mates with the rods also????? Right now it only has lube on the mating surface that mates with the crank.
Thanks IJ.
I used plastigauge on all the rods earlier today and they were all within TSRM specs. I don't have the numbers in front of me but i did check to make sure i had the correct bearings and to double check the machine shops work.
Hello Everybody
I have a quick question here as i am assembling my motor and wanted to know if someone here could help me. I was assembling my motor yesterday and once i installed all rods the crank was not able to turn with the full rotating assembly. I started loosening each rod and noticed...
depends on the machine shop. my machine shop actually took care of that for me but if you are wondering you can ask your machine shop and they will be able to tell you wether they will do it or not.
BOV came with the car when i bought it. I am pretty sure that it slips on and off and it did not snap as i have been looking over the BOV for the past few days. I just need to find out where i can get a replacement or something so that i can actually connect the vaccum to the BOV. man this sucks.
I'm in the process of doing a build and putting everything back together i noticed that i am missing the small part that the vaccum line connects to on the BOV. anybody know where i can get one of these? has this happened to anybody before??? thanks for the help. Here's a pic to better...
as far as where the block is stamped it's under the exhaust manifold towards the number 1 cylinder, but as others have said It wont tell you if it's JDM or not.
is it possible to use it with maft-pro??? i can't find the list of widebands that are compatible with maft pro. thanks
I was also looking at an NGK wideband it's pretty cheap and straight to business, but once again not sure if it's compatible with MAFT-PRO.
anybody else have any input?
I have been searching for a while and have yet to find an answer to this question. Would it be possible to run a FPR with a stock setup, meaning stock AFM, injectors, pump, lines etc....
given i would not mess with it apart from the base pressure set for stock injectors, but would this be a...
